Cotto weighed in@146 v Clottey - would TWO lbs less make him a walking corpse?

You're absolutely right, but there are ways and methods used with the right techniques and the right amount of time to shed muscle, water weight and fat the correct way. As a professional Cotto should exhaust his resources to ensure he's taking the correct measures to be at his best at any weight....and if he's "STRUGGLING" to make weight at 147 he needs to re-evaluate his natrual weight class.

This is simple. Coto is a WW and he fights at WW. If Pac is interested he can go to WW. He accepted DLH at WW. Why wouldn't he accept Cotto @ WW??? Either he can handle WW or not. If he can't then keep fighting at 140lbs

It is simple but you got it twisted. Cotto is the one interested in BIG fights and there is no one BIGGER or more financially fruitful than PAC. That's right...PAC did accept a fight at WW for DLH..placing PAC at a huge disadvantage as he was at a disadvantage for Diaz and Hatton. Now that PAC has proven to be the man in boxing by overcomming huge odds he now is the "shot caller". You want to be the man, you go to the man and take what he's earned. Not the other way around. The only reason WW is in the equation is b/c the bigger WW's are looking to cash in and take on PAC for his title.

That's the bottom line. PAC could fight at Jr WW and be fine but the fans and the WW's with the names are seeking PAC. So why should PAC fight them at their wieght when they are calling him out? Why should PAC place himself at a disadvantage AGAIN...when he's been doing that to take his place as the P4P king? It makes no sense. He's being nice to offer a catch weight in order to make the fight happen. He could be a dick and say come to 140 if you want a peice.

pac will get discredited anyway. so fu## it let him fight at 144-145. if pac beats cotto at 147 he wil either be , overrated or lost it since margarito.

this has been answered many times already even in this thread.

again, 147 is cotto's natural weight. it is certainly not for both pac and dlh who used 147 as a sort of catchweight. pac went up 2 weight classes from 135 while dlh went down 3 lbs. from 150 for their fight. they certainly weren't comfortable fighting @147 unlike cotto.

just compare the pac who fought hatton @140 and the pac who fought dlh @147. pac looked more powerful, stronger and faster vs. hatton than dlh. @144, pac will be somewhat in between but still not in the 100% level when he fought hatton at his now natural weight class of 140.

i'm getting tired of always repeating myself here. ppl have to make an effort to scan through the thread before making a reply.

Doesn't matter, as long as the winner gets credit. If Tarver and Johnson get credit for RJJ, and George gets credit for Byrd, then Pac should get credit for a 2lb diff over Cotto...if he wins:D

Yeah, I agree. Or....Cotto comes out and clearly states that he has no problem making 144, that it wouldn't be an issue...and the fight is made.

Good posts from you on this thread. A little oasis of sanity in this desert of Pacquiao hatred.

It's DLH's own damn fault for messing up the weight. And it's his fault for making everyone so bitchy about the possible catchweight for Cotto. Everyone seems to be in-love with the term "weight-drain" since the DLH fight.

Anyway, if Cotto agrees to a catchweight then it's a fair game, props to whoever wins.
