I agree. 144 or 143 should be an ideal catchweight.

EDIT: On second thought I don't agree. If Pacquiao wants to beat Welters, then he should fight at 147.

It's getting to the point where Pac's going to be in a no-lose situation the less he demands of Cotto, and a no-win situation if he makes Cotto work to get to a tougher weight. I almost have to remind myself that this fight's going to take place in the ring and not on the scales.

From what I've picked up, the "magic number" for Pac either getting total credit or zero credit seems to be 145. Who would've thought a couple pounds made that much difference? All the sudden, Stevie Forbes has the most powerful nickname in the sport.

actually, it's not exactly in the middle. pac went up two weight classes from 135 (12 lbs) while dlh went down 3 lbs. from 150 (catchweight w/ forbes) for their fight.

but i do certainly agree with what you're saying here.

someone of these fans dont understand the term "fair". cotto will weigh 160 pac 147. the best solution is a the same day weigh in, or catch weight. i have a feeling the excuses are already their if pac wins.

people need to understand that this fight is under differennt circumstances to oscar. first oscar was past prime moving down 7 pounds and ****ed up his training. cotto is prime moving down 2 pounds and should have no problem rehydrating if done right.

    excuses.

Thats not the point, dude ! If he's so dam tough than he should come and fight in the WW division and **** the bull**** ! I'm sure you already know that DLH was weak as hell going down in weight. If i'm not mistaken..he's chasing Cotto and there for he should fight in Cotto weight class.

Oscar did have a "fight" at 150, but he had been at 154 for years and years before that, and he spoke of himself as a light-middle in the run-up. He looked better at 154 than he did in that fight at 150.

In essence, he dropped one weight class and Pac moved up two (though not really, since he weighed in at only 142lbs).

Oscar met Pac in the middle. Cotto should do the same. That's a fair fight.

147 or no fight. Pac can't keep making these guys drain beat them and him and his fans think he beat a fighter who was at 100%.

Cotto weighed in at 146 for the Clottey fight. If you think losing 2lbs would seriously affect a 5ft 7in, 28 year old former lww champion, you should check into rehab to dry out.
