Cotto or Mosley: Who would be more effective at 143 pounds?

Cotto. He has a better frame for the weight.

 

they are both gonna give up a little to make the weight i would think...mosely is a gym rat but cotto seems to have a good frame for it. i don't think they would be both ineffective...but both would def be affected by the weight loss

 

I think Cotto could definitely handle 143 better than Mosley but that doesn't mean Cotto would be as effective as 147. I honestly don't think Mosley could make 143 without getting seriously hurt

 

The younger Cotto, IMO.
Mosley is defo already set in stone.

Cotto could fight at 143 pounds and could be effective, but not vs an elite opponent. He would look pretty weak at that weight. So I guess Cotto would be slighlty more effective, but this weight is bad for both Cotto and Mosley, especially for Shane.

 

I think that you have it reversed. Mosely would be able to handle 143 better. Cotto is not the same fighter as before and he appears to be struggling to make 147.

I must say I have doubts whether Shane could even make such a weight. You think he could make it, and like easy?

 

Ah, yeah I just checked that post. You have a point, but the weight changes are between 147 and 154. Shane hasn't fought below 147 for more than 10 years, so I have my doubts he could make 143 and still be effective.

 

Both will be inefective at 143 but Mosley more. Cotto has the frame to pull it off but he will be sacrificing a lot. Mosley will look like hell weighing 143 IMO.
