You don't see the point of a fight between two of the best fighters in the world unless it's for a WBO belt?

WBO have certainly gone up in people's estimation in the last decade...

That doesn't make any sense. Pac has already fought Oscar at 147. Either he CAN handle legitimate fighters in that weight class or you are saying that he beat a faded de la hoya and thats all he can do is beat has beens? Which is it? Can he fight real 147 pounders or not?

Considering PAC is the one who hold's the prestigious P4P title and Cotto is the one who would like to challenge the top guy in the sport, who just so happens to be smaller....I think it's very nice of PAC to suggest meeting in the middle at 144. PAC could have easily said if Cotto wants it to meet him at his division at 140. Obviously PAC really wants to make the fight and it seems so does Cotto. I'm excited!

It's not rocket science brah....PAC is the man at 140. Cotto and Shane are the once who want to fight him at 147. When PAC wanted to fight DLH PAC had to go 2 divisions UP to make the fight happen when he had only one fight at 135 before the fight was made with DLH.

PAC is use to being at a disadvantag when looking for bigger and more dangerous oppoents. Things are far different now with PAC earning his spot and now calling shots rather than adhearing to them. And Catch weights are not ridicoulous having been around in boxing for years. Many of the great smaller men have faught at Catch weight....PAC is just a present great doing the same.

Has everybody forgotten that delahoya and pacman agreed to fight at 147 lbs? delahoya was a jr middleweight and pac was a lightweight. Both agreed to fight at 147 lbs even though both fighters are not WELTERWEIGHT.

Mis match only b/c PAC is a Great fighter where Cotto is a very good fighter. But his size advantage and power should be enough to make the fight compelling. Besides.......2 years ago NO ONE would have entertained PAC fightig Cotto, DLH, Hatton or FLoyd at ANY WEIGHT! Forget 147, 140 or anywhere in betwen.

My point is Oscar is a Junior middleweight and floyd is a welterweight but fought oscar at his best weight class. IMO if pac wants to be number 1 p4p, he has to fight the best in the sport.

DLH's natrual and best weight was 147. Aging...DLH began to campain at Jr MW. Floyd challenged DLH not b/c DLH was the best of the best, but b/c DLH meant a lot of $$$$$. And PAC doesn't need to fight anyone at 147 to be considered P4P #1. That has already been established through what he's done in the ring over the past 5 yrs or so.

No one is asking FLoyd to fight anyone above 147......Floyd is already to fight the kingpin of the 135 wieght class in his domain at WW.

Cotto looked like damaged goods vs. Clottely compared to early on in the Margarito fight. He looked well slower and way less deliberate with his punches. Was it Clottey that made him look that way, or is it the beating he took vs. Marg. that made him look that way, or a bit of both. My gut tells me Cotto is not the fighter, physically or mentally that he was prior to Margarito. My early prediction, subject to change as the bout approaches, is that Pac. will make Cotto look slow and confused and take him out in the mid-rounds, even if it is @ 147.

Pac has been fighting the best for a while now.
    122-ledwaba-sanchez-julio
    126-barrera-marquez
    130-barrera-marquez-morales
135- diaz- not the best but a champion
140-hatton-been the best jr welterweight for the last 5 yrs
147-beat delahoya who was bigger than him

and now is fighting cotto or mosley next.

He has fought the best of the best for a while.
    2 fights with barrera
    3 fights with morales
    2 fights with marquez
    delahoya-hatton
That's 5 future hall of famers
cotto or mosley next... What more do you want?
