Mayweather vs Hamed/ Barrera

At a 128 lb catchweight, but Hamed was faded by that point and barely had a punchers chance IMO

would've loved to see Hamed spark Floyd out though :good

 

Floyd would have outclassed hamed, UD about 10 rounds to 2. And i think he would TKO barrara late or UD him. Neither where in floyds class at 130

 

Naz had a good chin. I agree that he would survive against even 130lb Floyd.

 

There was no way in hell Hamed would have taken the fight and good for him not to, because Floyd would've mopped the ring with him. Barrera also would have been outclassed. Floyd @ 130 is a truly special fighter, had his competition level stayed same throughout all his weight reigns were talking about a serious contender with the likes of Duran, Leonard, and Whitaker.

 

Yeah, i wouldn't favour many to stop naz, possibly someone like a danny lopez, saddler or arguello could get the job done but i doubt floyd would, that wouldn't take away from the fact he would be outclassed totally by mayweather

 

Mayweather would have easily beaten both fighters in my opinion. Mayweather really is that good. Forget about Hamed he would have no chance, and Junior Jones was able to get the best of Barrera twice, Mayweather is leagues better. Barrera was good against fighters that wanted to stand with him, Mayweather isnt there to be hit.

 

You'd have a better chance of seeing Jesus working as a cashier at Walmart.

Floyd woulda beat the living **** outta Hamed. ANY version of Hamed. It woulda been an extremely one sided fight.

 

Hamed in fairness was a 5-3 former flyweight that was perhaps his best weight at 126 anyway (despite his world honours all being at that weight)

 

Mayweather is too good for Barrera & Hamed regardless of weight, he`d box both silly.

 

Mayweather would have a field day with Hamed.

 

I was thinking Floyd-Hamed would look like Floyd-Gatti, but it wouldn't, Hamed was far more mobile. But that is Floyd's approach to this one, Floyd is a versatile boxer, and when he has a man in front of him, stationary looking to counter with big shots, he picks them off with combos and big shots himself, moving close, gets off, then out. Hamed is far better than Gatti, but i still see the win for Floyd.

Floyd-Barrera is 2 great versatile guys, Floyd is just better at the end of the day for me. If Barrera turns boxer though as he can at his best, (in a p4p sense to avoid people putting forth scenarios of what types of fighters each were at particular stages of their careers etc etc), i think the fight is ultra interesting, he has a good defense, is varied in his atyle of back foot boxing, and has plenty of varied offense to offer while in defensive mode, a different prospect for Floyd for once.

I still pick Floyd as i just feel i have to, one is more beatable than the other.

 

The HAmed of 1995 was far more mobile than the 1999-2001 version though, he was very hard to hit clean without catching a massive counter back then.

Is it significance Floyd Sr said FMJ would lose to a southpaw as he has a weakness against them :huh

 

Yeah i was considering the earlier version of Hamed there with the mobility comment. It's just that Floyd isn't going to start stumbling round the ring looking for him and leaving himself open. I just see it as a chess match, and imo Floyd is better in a pound for pound prime for prime sense, or lets say more proven

 

The Hamed after 1999 was probably less mobile than any version of Gatti. He no longer bounced around, unpredictably, as Steward or Saurez made his stance and balance orthodox. That was the biggest mistake that was ever made to Hamed's style after he left Brendan Ingle. He became as erect as a telegraph pole from the feet up to his waist. And his upperbody movement wasn't the same either. He went back to his normal self for a few rounds against Augie Sanchez prior to knocking him out.

The reason he was easily outpointed by Barrera was quite simple the following - Loading up with punches, lack of fluidity about his technique, wide and very static stance, lack of jabs, and throw in his hands down approach and you have a disaster waiting to happen. The Hamed of 96/97 would have been far less predictable. He was like a "Jack n the Box" in front of his opponents, and peppered them with shots outwith his heavy power punches.

He became a "hands down" robot under Steward and Saurez.
