thats a good point....TR could certainly try to force cotto to sign an extension....but....cotto could say **** that....wait till his TR contract expires and let floyd/pac fight...and get the winner(floyd) later under the golden boy banner

I don't follow closely, but wasn't Jennings the end of Cotto's contract with Top Rank? I thought there was talk of sitting down with Arum after that fight... ?? I know it was close, just not sure....

    Found this about Cotto's contract:

Cotto, 26, who has been with Top Rank since turning pro with Bob Arum's Las Vegas-based company out of the 2000 Olympics, signed a three-year pact to replace his existing deal. The new promotional contract takes him through 2009, but Top Rank also has an option for a fourth year in which it has the right to match any other promotional offer in 2010.

    thanks

big sean taylor fan? skins fan? u fan?

kinda strange but....im a patriots season ticket holder...have been a fan since birth...i live in RI....well i took a good friend to the pats/skins game...hed never seen the skins play in person....my seats are in sec 140...which is a corner endzone section...about 23 rows from the field...and the visiting team usually warms up in that endzone/side of the field....so we go down to the first row to to watch warmups with a couple of beers in hand....my boy has his sean taylor jersey....he yells "waddduppp sean" while hes standing in line during a drill...taylor head nodded to him...and before they went back in the locker room...taylor came over and gave my boy a pound....he was like the happiest guy on earth until the game actually started....lol...it was a drubbing....but he still talks about it to this day....very sad that about two weeks later he would get hurt and never play again

Bottom line. Arum is taking him into the biggest pay day possible. Next biggest would be Floyd. Can Golden Boy PROMISE him Floyd? And if so, on what terms? If he beats Pac, the pressure is on Floyd to fight him regardless. It may come down to who he feels would better represent him in that negotiation.

GB can defo secure him both Floyd & Mosley 100%, I'm sure of that.

i guess it will ultimately come down to how cotto looks/does against pac....and what he would be worth to top rank after that fight

The point is will Floyd and Mosley be favored over him within GB though? Mosley hasn't shown a 'huge' interest in Cotto now. He wants Pac or Floyd. And Floyd? Cotto may get better representation from the outside.

I like the Golden Boy+ Cotto idea. I believe one of Floyd's excuses for not fighting Cotto was because he doesn't like Bob Arum.... well.... if Cotto goes to Golden Boy, he has no excuse :D

I remembered Cotto wanted a fight with Hoya while he was coming up.
