[yt]QHnidDtgFaw[/yt] [yt]IO2dTnFl2Z0[/yt] Greb punching and punching bag, sorry im sure many have seen these on here (if not all hehe), but first time for me, ive only seen the sparing one, is that all we have of the great man ? any thoughts on them ?, such a damn shame the fights aint about, i personaly think he looks like a real beast, can imagine him in a fight swarming all over the other man not letting him breath
cheers mate apprecaited i think i migth have seen it before buts its welcome always good to see the man
I've amazingly seen Greb faulted and discredited for him obviously ****ing around in these videos. He took being filmed about as seriously as Max Baer, obviously.
Amazing that no footage of even a single fight exists, for arguably the greatest pound for pound fighter during boxing's heyday . :-( I wonder what of the chances of a nitrate film of the Walker-Greb fight turning up in someone's attic. Pretty grim I guess.....
Yes, that is Mickey Walker, Harry Greb and Jimmy DeForest. I knew Mickey pretty well and I also have a lot of material from Jimmy DeForest, who died in 1932. I even have a hand written booklet that he wrote.
The guy Greb has an amazing story, not least of which is the truth about his lack of sight in one eye. When you think of someof the great gladiators he fought, imagine taking those fights with one ****ing eye! The guy is a genuine Legend, a word used too often nowadays.
Ditto Joe Frazier. Greb started out with two good eyes though. Sam Langford finished up blind, but could still kayo guys with his sense of hearing.
Kind of funny how we never really saw a truly 100% Frazier considering what happened to his arm as a child. If that arm wasn't injured however we may of never seen that hook developed so well, nor his iron will and determination. Funny how things work out.
