    or
Are we really fans of media created marketing machines.....

What's wrong with Pac vs Cotto, Marquez vs Mayweather, Haye vs Klitschko, etc...

It's all about hype and media these days, the majority of fans live off that junk which is why it relates to WWE and UFC in many ways when in reality it's a legitimate sport. Got to take that approach though, it's what the majority feed on.

I agree, too many fans are bitching these days.

Unless a guy is visibly dead like Oscar against Pac, people just need to shut up and let the fighters fight.

I like things as they are now, although I'd like to see less weight jumping, if people fight in a certain division then they should fight other guys in that division, make the weight jumping/ catchweight fights a rare occurance and they would be more special, rather that what everyone expects to happen now with JMM-FMJ, Cotto/Pac at 144 and the like. Great fights yeah, but the bread-and-butter of boxing should be fighting guys in your own weight class. Actually, I just typed all that, and reading it back I'm not sure I actually agree with myself.....

i agree with all of the above. fighters are marketable quantities in a business. nothing more, nothing less. it's ALL about risk vs reward. An undefeated record is worth so many $, beating so and so lead to this many $, etc. It's a numbers and bull**** game and we're all buying in.

Two out of your three examples are not coming to fruition! That's what's wrong with boxing.

when I see people praise cottos performance like cotto pulled off a convincing win and the pacman fans hyping pacman up to be an all time great reguardless of how skillful his camp is in who and how he choses a match I know there are now boxing fans theres just fans of boxing.

If someone was to ask you who is your favorite fighter who would you pick and why?

If someone were to ask me I would say all of them!
I feel a certain kind of way for some due to the fact the media hypes them up or gives gifts but Im a fan of Boxing not individual Boxers.

Do you Like Kobe or the Lakers?

It's called a business, and this is there lively hood so get used to it. I don't tell you to quit subway where your making 9 bux an hour to work at Mcdonalds for 7 bux cause you make good fries.

I'm glad you are making that extra 2 bux.

You do present some good, valid points but you gotta just take it with a grain of salt...You cant stop people from being petty.
