A shocker, but maybe that was because we did not realize how shot Honeyghan actually was?

For those who picked Akinwande against Lewis, remember for a brief moment Akinwande did floor Lennox.

Nelson/DeLeon (plus the equally forgettable Nelson/Warring) and Joe 'Just glad to be here' Bugner/AliII are the go to fights.

I was always a little disappointed how McCrory lost his title to the very ordinary Lampkin, particularly a world title holder losing to a body shot. I know they can cause huge damage, but still it does at the very least, look poor losing like that; especially as Glenn had previously defended against Makathini in an amazing show of fighting spirit.

Napa's last fight (European title fight considered a 'major fight?') was very disappointing and was a bad performance.

What I said was that nothing much was expected of Lockett and he delivered slightly less than that. Lockett was never a wild swinging puncher. He tried to calculate his movements and never fought on instinct or with any natural flair. It's unrealistic to expect a guy who admitted many times that he 'wasn't a big boxing lover and did it because he was ok at it and made some cash' (to paraphrase) to throw caution to the wind when he would rather take the money and health option.

I voted Maccarinelli because he'd just come off a couple of good wins (looking excellent against Braithwaite) and should have been able to function in the ring against Haye. For whatever reason, he lost control of himself before the first round started and he was very poor and got what he deserved. I'm not even saying that he was favourite to win the fight BUT he had a chance, unlike Lockett. Haye can be decked and Macca can punch. Macca bottled it big time and to me, that is far worse because he'd been in big(ish) fights before and he got it all wrong.

I see your view, but Lockett never got hit with what Maccarinelli got hit with regardless of expectations

Lockett got hit with solid shots every time he got anywhere near Pavlik. And he didn't have to go very far because of Pavlik's much superior height & reach advantage.

It's not my place to suggest that Lockett wasn't hit with hurtful punches, that's why I didn't say that.Maccarinelli was hit clean by arguably the hardest hitter in the world p4p.Lockett was content to tak a knee.I'm not knocking him for that, thats just the justification for my choice. If everyone who is said to have no chance turns up with that mindset,we wouldn't have upsets in boxing
