No idea if this has been made before, but, whatever.

I was checking the thread on our 5 favourite fighters, and I was wondering; where about the boxers we dislike? So, I am opening this thread.

My question is: which ones are the 5 boxers you dislike/disliked? Which ones are the boxers that you madly wanted/want to be beaten? Which ones are those guys that you hope/hoped they would lose and when they lost you were shouting “Thanks heaven!!!, finally somebody took that sucker down!!!”?

I don’t want this to become an argument like “you are crazy for disliking this guy”.
This doesn’t pretend to be an objective thread. You just name the 5 fighters you want/wanted beaten for whatever reasons: because you consider them overrated, because you dislike their boxing style, because you consider them cheaters, because you hate their attitude, because you dislike his face or the colour of his boxers… anything goes.

Here are my personal 5 dislikes, in no particular order:

    1) Mike Tyson
I know he is an ATG, but I wanted him to be beaten because I was sick of the invincibility hype and how his rivals looked deadly afraid of him. Moreover, I wanted somebody to kill Don King’s milking cow. I was jumping up and down when Buster pulled the upset.

    2) Sugar Ray Leonard
Another ATG, but I was tired of the media darling treatment and how referees and judges sometimes seemed biased towards him (like in the Hearns fights). I dislike that he didn’t fight Hagler in his prime. So when the fight with Hagler finally happened, I was rotting for Hagler to destroy Leonard. Boy! I was pissed off when that didn’t happen!

My impression on Leonard improved, after he said that in his book, Hearns won at least one of their fights.

    3) Oscar de la Hoya
Nothing personal, but I thought he was overhyped and overrated, with a subpar resume, and I had the impression that he was cherry picking Pacquiao. Gladly, he picked a sour cherry!!!! :D

    4) Floyd Mayweather
I disliked his “I am the greatest” attitude, and I am tired of how much people talk of his undefeated record as the second coming of Christ. If he ever returns to the ring, I hope whoever he fights (Marquez, Pacquiao, Cotto, etc.) will give him a good shaking.

    5) Antonio Margacheato
Obvious reasons. I am so glad that Mosley took him to school. If he ever fights again, I hope he will get trashed

As mentioned before, it is not an objective list. Some of those guys are good/great fighters; it is just that for one reason or another I wanted them beaten :!:

By the way everyone, is it olay for me to give a newbie hardcore abuse because he wanted Tyson to lose?!!!

For some reason I have always liked Hatton, and he's become one of my fav's these past few years...I am still trying to get over the fact that he lost to PBF, let alone Pac!

    Mayweather for his arrogance
Greg Haugen for his racist remarks regarding Mexicans
Wilfredo Gomez for being a dirty fighter and for his referring to Sanchez as a "w*tback" and for saying that he was "gonna send his w*tback ass back to Mexico City in a coffin"
Antionio Margaplastero for being a cheater
    Oscar De La Hoya

I don't often cheer against a fighter as much as I cheer for certain ones. I can't really think of a fighter I desperately wanted to lose a fight...unless they were fighting someone I cheer for..so here are my 5 most memorable:

    1. Ali against Frazier (I don't think I ever needed someone to win as much as I wanted Frazier to X's 3!)
    2. Chavez against Meldrick (I can't think of a fight that pains me more!)
    3. Tyson against Holyfield (I had been telling people for years that Holy would win if Tyson dared to fight him...I needed this one to happen)
    4. Hagler against Monroe (well at least it happened the first time)
    5. Pac against Hatton (I know 80% of people saw it coming....but I did not believe Pac could deal with size disadvantage)

In all honesty and i've been following boxing for over 35 years now. I can only think of 1 boxer that I can't stand. Floyd ****ing Mayweather, something about him just really gets under my skin.
There has been plenty of times that I have really wanted a boxer to win but not because i disliked or disrespected the other fighter.
I suppose in his early days Chris Eubank but Chris won me over with his warrior like performances.

Hey, I never said I was going to be objective :D

Seriously, I recognize ODLH qualities and achievements as a fighter. It is just that my impression was that, for all the hyper promotion and huge money ODLH made, he was not that great. :think

In any case, regardless my opinion, kudos to ODLH for being such a smart entrepreneur and getting so much fame and money from his career. Heaven knows that boxing is a very demanding and taxing profession, and boxers deserve rightly every penny they can make.
