Is Miguel Cotto's Power Over-Rated?

Depends how you rate his power, if you rate him a devastating puncher then yes. His power is good but isnt taking out stong durable WWs, but he's quite precise and throws allot of heavy punches. He will be the heaviest and biggest puncher Pacquaio has encountered by a slight but significant margin

Jennings said that Cotto isn't that powerful and he's been hit harder (and who had Jennings fought previously? Nobody really...), but he's very accurate.

 

and out of those names you have mention, how many other opponents have drop them? not many that I could think of... it happends a lot in boxing esp at the stages where your are facing the elite and top of the cream, knockouts or knockdowns become harder...

 

I think by this time, more and more people don't think that much of him as a power-puncher.

He may have heavy hands that build up and do damage, often resulting in deforming the faces of his opponents, but generally needs awhile to do the damage and put opponents in trouble (especially against the opposition he's facing).

 

Cotto punches plenty hard, body punches are his KO speciality though. And another thing cotto did stun clottey.

Agree he is a good puncher and can do damage if he lands cleanly. Very accurate puncher and a fine boxer.

Some guys like Shane just dont get knocked out. Not every figth has to end in a KO, cotto is a good puncher.
