"He does not have the mentallity of a champion. I can hardly believe what I just saw. You have a bad hand? So what! Ive never seen anything like that Jim. Im speechless. All he had to do was survive 2 more rounds. I mean he is way ahead. All he had to do was stand in there for a few rounds, play defense, and win the fight." - Larry Merchant

Honestly, in my opinion this is the worst quit job in boxing history. It wasnt like Vitali was facing mike tyson in there, he was facing a cruiserweight with no punch who pocessed no danger to denting his chin in the last few rounds if vitali just stood there and played defense. Why couldnt vitali just suck it up? Does anyone honestly think byrd could have beaten vitali had vitali gone out for the last couple rounds? Inexusable. This is a major stain on his legacy. Also I would like to add, Vitali was throwing his left mulitple times in round 9, so its not like he was incapable of using that arm.

In Europe they don't kill you for quiting altough recently it has changed.

That being said Larry might have been right(maybe his opinion has changed in the time) and the quit was shameful.

Wasn't it his shoulder? That shite hurts like a mothafugga. I had a shoulder injury once, and the pain was unbearable. I was up the whole nite.

I bet you didn't have a hard-hitting slugger like Chris Byrd chasing you too

Merchant was right, VITLAY doesn't have the mentality of a champion, he has the mentality of a bully. When faced with adversity, his sugar pedestal collapsed, and the same thing happened with Lewis - he only got brave after the fight was stopped.

Why don't you just sum that up, seriously, and I say "I ****ing hate the klitschko's they sucK and Vitali is a quieter' :lol:instead of trying to make it seem remotely like your being ****ing objective. Rotator Cuff injury ain't a ****ing joke-it hurts like mother ****er. But if you dislike the klitschko's it won't matter. Needless, whatever questions he had in that fight I think he was able to make some of if it, if not all of it in the lewis fight.

At the time Merchant was right. Vitali Klitschko answered all of his critics in the Lennox Lewis fight the guy had half of his face hanging off and was still willing to fight. That was enough for me. He also proved he had an Iron Chin in that fight.

He then proved that he actually had a glass chin in the Sanders fight, when Sanders floored him.

Well Vodka Merchant is definitely wrong about one thing.

Brittley had to survive 3 more rounds, not 2.

Ah here he is ladies and gentleman the guy that posts on ESB everyday in the wee hours of the night/morning and discusses 3 topics:

    Vitali Klitschko
    Wlad Klitschko
Lennox Lewis who has been retired for 5 years.

What a life you live.:rofl:patsch

I suggest you start posting about the abysmal Heavyweights your nation has fighting right now or one of the many Glass Jawed fighters your nation has getting KOed on TV every single weekend.

I don't know if it is sad or hilarious that all you have is to try and bring up a supposed knockdown that the referee that was standing three ****ing feet away rules as a slip because that is all you have.

Go watch some of those Glass Jawed British jokes fight and report back to us about that.

    :lol::rofl

Just think,Danny Williams fought with a dislocated shoulder, and knocked out his opponent with one arm. That was for the British and Commonwealth HW titles. This fight was for a world title
