""The fight does not make any sense to me. A fight with me will make more money. I know there have been numbers going on out there like Cotto making 5 or 6 million and Manny making 10, 11 or 12. But in a fight with me, he will make more money. Bob Arum is being the puppet master putting this together, but Manny will make more money fighting me. And why fight Cotto? He almost lost to Joshua Clottey. It was a fight that he easily could have lost. Cotto ran around the ring in the last few rounds. The fight with Cotto is not the best fight for boxing or fight fight fans, or Manny Pacquiao fans. It is the best fight for Bob Arum. Even if you look at Cotto’s gash, do you think it will heal in time? It might just open up again if he fights Pacquiao. The fans need to know that the best and biggest fight in boxing right now is with me."

Yup. This is what I thought when Pacquiao told Arum to make the fight against Cotto in November. That was a nasty cut which needs time to heal. According to doctors, the cut needs like 6 months I believe to fully heal.

I still want to see the fight though :smoke

Either fight would be great for the fans as long as Pac steps up to 147 so that he can say he beat them at their best.

Shane's sounding more and more desperate. I'd like to see him obliged by a big name. Maybe he can still fight Hatton and officially retire him.

    Shane speaks the truth.

Shane is the true welterweight champion. He's the bigger name. He's did the better PPV numbers. He's the more complete package (no suspect chin, no sucking of left uppercuts all the time, no running in the ring, no questionable stamina, no cuts all the time).

If Pacquiao wants welterweight glory, fight at welterweight. If he wants the welterweight champ, fight the real champion who is Mosley. But I completely agree with Roach, there's no money worth risking a serious beatdown vs. an old Shane, Cotto's vulnerabilities and PacMan's speed advantage should make Pac-Cotto a safe bet in Roach's book, even if it is for less money.

He gotta protect his fighter's health.

The way you talk seems that u are oblivious to the fact that Cotto has a victory against SSM... it doesn't matter if SSM beat AM or not , Cotto still has a w over him

hmm says... a Cotto fight is more opportunistic then a Mosley fight right now. Pac has better chances in beating Cotto than that of Mosley. A win over Cotto builds more momentum and opportunities for bigger mega fights for Pac.. The chances are there. I wouldn't risk it with a Mosley fight just yet. He speaks the truth, but I just look at the fight itself and not the factors that make it (ie. both fighters are from Top Rank). It just sucks to be Mosley sitting around waiting. Smart move for team Pac, good opportunity for Cotto. Cotto first then Mosley or Mayweather next if Pac happens to pull through..

It's obvious that Pac's people aren't looking for welterweight glory and that's why they want all these catch weights and are side stepping Mosley.

Wtf? 6 months for a cut to heal? People come out of surgery, with their abdomen stapled, and recover faster than that.

hmm says... unless he's wolverine yes about 6 months... Anyone wonder why they don't use that artificial powder/scab/clot the military uses to close up wounds and stop bleedings in the middle of boxing fights?

I also kinda believe Pac can hold his own against Cotto at 147.

Yes true . . . good for Arum . . . but Mosley vs Pac is good for GBP. :D

Mosley and DLH are sounding very desperate lately.

hmm says... or GBP/DLH isn't doing a good job in promoting Mosley... We've heard GBP recently setting fights up and focusing on other fighters, but not a strong case for Mosley until Cotto and Pac was mentioned....
