i seem to box very well against the better guys in my gym. I box alot better a very good technical fight. I kinda live of fear if you get me. I fight really well and dont think just do it and box very well. But when i box somebody not as good as me i just cant box aswell im just not as motivated and kinda subconciously box worse. I just go in and take them apart with a high worlrate and body shots. But i box rubbish and get hit so much. Anyone else have this
It's consistentcy. Often times thats what you should do against less experienced guys, just work with them. From now on, focus on boxing your natural style no matter who you're hitting. You may be surprised how fast these thoughts go away...
Well you arn't pushed as hard by the lesser fighters so I tend to not do so well either sometimes, also because they're often unorthodox and throw everything which can be awkward but they won't be able to keep it up.
The beginners probably try to do there best against you. Because you might not be scared of them but they are of you. You said yourself that is you find yourself challenged by a better opponent you box better. Then you try to box them with body shots. Why is that? Are you not allowed to hit them in the head hard? It's eat or being eaten.
i just work on defense when boxing new starters, because if you can block punches of people who dont know what there going to throw themselves you can block punches of boxers who have a set routine. i go easy on them to though, just lack of motivation and dont wanna knock someones pride who's just starting out
i try but i just cant im like distracted yeh theyre awkward as hell and most of them slap my ears and its sorer than a punch i can hit them as hard as i want but i just go out and wear them down really as i dont have much power i focus on the body to hurt people my trainer wants me to be more aggresive and he gets annoyed when i go defensive against a beginner he says i should be picking them apart.
Paterson, you know how to box. Maybe your coach wants you to be in a fight time mindset when you come into the gym rather than it be about terrorizing noobs...
