Don't know....what round. If its the earlier rounds then he'd be doing himself an injustice b/c Cotto was leading on the cards early on and if it got stopped after the 4th it would go to the cards and Cotto would have won a decision.....if it happened later, then maybe it would have made sense for Josh to try this to end the fight where he "MIGHT" have been up on the cards. After all he couldn't have won by TKO since it was an accidental butt.
Then it makes NO sense for Josh to be trying this! He'd end up loosing on the cards. Or......a NC which would call for an immediate rematch. Not sure...but that would be anther pay day for Josh, right? or Wrong? It did look as if he was trying to push off with his head but it could have been in the heat of battle and he was trying to get some seperation when Cotto was holding.
Why doesn't it make sense? What if Clottey felt he was up on the scorecards? If he felt he was up on the cards then he may have an early night and get a win over Cotto. Then if the rematch is set that just means another big payday for Clottey. In case the ref would have incorrectly ruled it a cut due to a punch Clottey would have won if they stopped the fight. I think the GIF is clear and the timing with it is also evident.
Are you that stupid? Why would Clottey think he'll be up on the scorecard if the knockdown happen in the 1st round? Clottey might think he got robbed but he ain't that dumb to think he was up on the scorecard that early. As charlie said it doesn't make sense that Clottey would headbutt Cotto on purpose to think he can win the fight on the scorecard after the 4th round.
STFU dumbass you have already been certified as a dumbass by multiple posters on this thread alone all you need to do is look back at all the pages. Whether it makes sense or not the proof is in the GIF:deal
Ah...so Clottey was just digging all up in Cotto's cut wasn't he...Maybe he wanted to be infected with some disease? As if Africa isn't notorious for diseases. im drunk btw
Most of these guys give Cotto a pass for that...They both had their fair share of dirty momnets.:good
guys who headbutt are by far the worst kind of boxer. its so frustrating to see guys lead with their head all the time and open huge gashes on their opponents. for one, it ruins the quality of the fight and for two, it ends up ****ing up fighters long term by giving them massive scar tissue that can easily be opened up again. These kind of fouls imo are far worse than any low blows, hip shots, rabbit punches, etc. when i saw clottey do this saturday night i was ****in pissed off. i should have expected it from him though.
to me, leading with your head intentionally (especially with a ****in dome like clottey's) far outweighs the dirtiness of cotto's fouls. the hit on the back of the head was CLEARLY a tap and if you look at the above view replay of clottey's fall cotto didn't even throw him down. he actually stopped himself from using his right hand to throw him when he realised he was going down on his own. just watch the replays and you'll see none of cotto's fouls were even worthy of being considered fouls.
Man, I already posted a response with a YouTube of the 12th round you can clearly see that Cotto tries to quickly throw a legal punch but Clottey for some reason turns while hugging Cotto's entire arm thus leading to the punch in the back of the head.
The point I'm making is that the both did dirt in that fight...This is a rough sport and fouls happen all the time! They both are dirty fighters..Clottey has a history of headbutts and Cotto has a history of low-blowing fighters while hes' hurt..History doesnt lie...I'm not trying to back Clottey but you guys are being rather bias when you just single out Clottey like Cotto is an angel.
What about Cotto's fouls...Dont act like Clottey was the only fighting dirty in that fight...I'm not disputing that Clottey fought dirty...I'm just simply pointing out that BOTH fighters fought dirty. Not just Clottey.
