This thread is an abomination. A street brawler indeed. Try watching Duran on video and stop trawling Boxrec FFS.
Who ever say Duran is overrated is a ****ing dumb **** who dont know **** about ****ing nuttin. Duran like many other fighter (Ali, Tyson, SRL...) is a fighter who really put the X in Exited fight. This guy is a legend.
he is a top 10 boxer just by his LW career...but he must not be a top 5 material..he lost most of hid significant fights at higher division.
asero, don't agree with the last statement but thank you for providing some reasoned and objective input to the thread. good job :happy
well go with corrales sinse that was your first pick. that was at the weight floyd looked his best and duran looked best at lightweight so floyds equivelant of a palomino would have to be like a cotto or something and he still has to face a pavlik to start to come close to what duran did. you hve to put it in perspective to understand what a truly great feat his career really was. just threw in fighters names to make a point so dont grill me on the minor details.
JLC stops him. PBF beats him. If it weren't for the first SRL fight we would never have to listen to this bull****. Hearns takes his head off 10 times out of 10. SRL probably makes him quit midfight 100% of the time if he sticks and moves instead of trying to humiliate Duran by outbrawling him. Duran = overrated.
I read "The Picture of Dorian Gray" this week, so I'm feeling a little poetic and Gothic, perhaps that was what gave rise to my grim feelings surrounding these blasphemous misconceptions of Duran! Nah I'm not watching Pascal mate, I got two dvd sets delivered today (Monzon and Pryor) so busy setting about them! Glorious!!
This is a blasphemy you are creating lots of controversy questioning Duran's legacy you won't find a better exponent of this sport if you check his attributes he exceed all expectations.
