    Keep this in mind, guys.

Where other opponents like Arreola declined fighting Wlad on short notice...Chagaev, who must have been extremely dissapointed over the Valuev fallout (1 day before the fight!) jumped at the chance to fight the greatest HW on the planet like it was nothing!

That takes balls...I don't know many other fighters who would take a fight with Wlad on such short notice...fighting Wlad is somethng you really ought to prepare for.

But kudos to Chagaev for stepping up, showing up in great shape and hopefully giving us a great fight tonight. And maybe, just maybe he can shock the world! :good

Too many people are taking a **** on Chagaev. The guy is a good fighter, very slippery and tactically aware. Probably won't make for a blood and thunder fight, but Wlad is really going to have his work cut out KO'ing this guy. I'll be impressed and surprised if he does.

You never know...Wlad seems to have mental issues when he faces a southpaw.

I keep trying to tell people here that Chagaev is no Ibragimov.

Chagaev is coming to win. To me it is a 50/50 fight.

I'm looking forward to this fight; props to Chagaev for taking it. On the flip side though:

1.) He just finished training for a big fight.
    2.) He's a professional boxer.

Therefore, I don't think we should praise him. It's his job. I think it just goes to show the state of the heavyweight division and how **** poor it is. Both in talent and heart for others to decline.

Well, I mean I'm not sure it's just a HW thing.

Let's say Pavlik had a fight with Mora and Abraham with Sturm. All of a sudden, two weeks before the fight, Mora and Sturm get hurt...i'd be pretty shocked if Pavlik and Abraham took a fight on such short notice with each other. It's just not likely.

He's so humble, that means he believes in himself.
The man is ready to fall on his sword.
He's going to take it to Wlad and if his training camp has been good, he causes big problems late in the fight.

I agree. However we can't bash Arreola as he wasn't training at all. Chagaev was already in great shape.

Povetkin declines, he's not ready? What is that pudgy kid waiting for, isn't he supposed to be getting ready to fight Wlad anyway?

Kali Meehan and Lamon Brewster both were offered a shot at Valuev after Chagaev fell through, but declined -- when are they ever going to have another opportunity like that? They were both in Helsinki and ready. Chagaev was packing for a family vacation -- they were planning to leave that very day -- when he got the call.

i can' believe Brewster passed up a shot at Valuev. Meehan I understand, but for Brewster to do that... silly.
