I never said his KD wasn't legit, I said if Cotto did not cause the KD which earned him one extra point, the fight should have been a draw. But, thankfully he did knock him down which was a perfect KD and was the victor of this fight.

Thanks for clearing that up for everyone.

The reason I saw some rounds for Cotto was his better ring generalship w/ effective punching against Clottey's ineffective aggression and/or inactivity and I'm not saying that Clottey was ineffectively aggressive every round because he was very effectively agressive in rounds like 7,8,9. This statement does not encapsulate the whole fight.

Now this is not for every round or the whole fight but effective punching is not the only factor although an impotant one. It is unfair to say that "Clottey was the only one landing effective punches."

If by ring generalship you mean that Cotto controlled the fight by back pedalling all night then sure. Clottey landed more punches, more power punches and landed at a better percentage rate, all while having to chase Cotto down and having taken the entire 6th round off to get his legs back under him after Cotto stepped on his ankle after the push/fall. Not to mention Clottey showed better defensive skills.

I will say this again, it was amazing what Cotto went through in that bout, and it changed my opinion of him as a man and a fighter. But thats not what wins fights.

Ok cool it was like 50 more punches or so right? I don't go by compubox I go by rounds and you are telling me that you had it 8 rounds to 4 in favor of Clottey so I can respect that.

In regards to punches thrown and % connect rate: For arguements sake lets say that extra 50 punches that he landed he landed them on rounds 7,8 and 9 which I thought Clottey won which then doesn't really mean anything when you take a look at the picture as a whole.

Although Cotto was fighting off the backfoot he still threw more than Clottey so it was not like he was running and avoiding engagement.

Cotto won by 1 point for me ,if he hadnt scored the KD i would have Clottey taking it by a point. This fight is deffo worthy of a rematch cant see Cotto risking that though after a close scrape!

Throwing punches doesnt win fights. Landing punches wins fights. And I truly believe that half of Cotto's landed punches came in round 6.

And looking back, I may have had it 114-113 Clottey because I think I may have given round 11 to Cotto. Again, I don't have my scorecard with me at work.

I've found that a lot of people that score Cotto winning, gave him the third round where he was cut. I remember Clottey dominating that round, but haven't rewatched the bout. Thats where my card starts to differ from most.

Maybe my math is off but if you had it something like 114-113 for Cotto and you wanted to hypothetically speaking take away the KD then it would have been a draw. No?

I scored the 1st round 10-8 cotto, without out the KD i would have scored it 10-10 a 2 point swing to Clottey which would have him winning by a point.

Cottos one of my fav active fighters but this guy scored the last 3 rounds for Cotto:patsch Nuthugger or what lol. I had a tie fight up until the eleventh round. Cotto closed the night on a good round. Oh and the tackle well lets just say that if a fighter jumps on top of you, what would you do?
