Clottey said the knockdown in the first round kind of frightened him and prevented him from engaging Cotto more often. Cotto came out slugging in the 6th so maybe Clottey just retreated & felt he could block Cotto's punches rather than duking it out with MC with fear of being put down like Round 1.

Not comparing the two. Just saying Clottey didn't fall hard and he made it seem like he was hit by a truck. I actually like Clottey. I guess I'm just disappointed by some of the parts of his performance. The fight was his. He just didn't fight enough. And unfortunately, that's the name of the game.

    Irrelevant.

Taylor almost had Pavlik OUT in the second round of their fight, yet Pavlik punished Taylor the very next round. So I guess Pavlik wasn't hurt right?

Clottey could no put any weight on the right leg, watch a replay, he's standing in the corner but leaning on his forward leg. He couldn't get any power in his punches and he couldn't move effectively, only lunge off his front foot. Couple of times you can see his right leg buckling.

And the very next round he was miraculously fine.

Golden, the questioned was, was clottey playing possum, well judging by how tired cotto was in the 7th and the way clottey dominated the answer is yes he was, taylor/pavlik is a poor parallel because pavlik was on the brink, clottey wasn't hurt at as cotto was mostly slapping arms and gloves.

Wow nobody and i mean nobody is giving Clottey big props for hanging in strong in the 6th round. Any fighters that took alot of hard punches from Cotto in that round would been out of there but Clottey shows he has a great chin and a great heart.

Crystal clear Clottey was buzzed. They start round 6 fighting on somewhat even footing till about a minute in, y'all. All of a sudden, Cotto lands a flush left hook, and boom, Clottey stops throwing, and spends the entire remainder getting bashed on the ropes.

Literally, one punch shuts off the activity. Watch the clip.

    Clottey got his bell rung.

oh yeah, clottey showed chin and heart. you won't find many arguments against that. but people will argue that he in any way won the round.

he was caught hard, stunned, covered up which is his natural response after being hit. trying to wait for cotto to stop pressuring him but cotto walked him into a corner, clottey did throw some effective punches but it was too little to late to win the round

His leg was hurt??? Had Cotto not had to back up he couldv'e finished him.. Cotto was landing bombs while Cotto was eating Clotteys uppercuts.. He was snapping Clottey's head back even Emanual noticed this..At 30 seconds or so you see the blood coming down,In a rematch a more focused Cotto will win more decisively...

Yeah he was playing possum,"while getting his head rocked in the same breath" When you play possum effectively you should be blocking most of the punches and not letting any in....

pretty much sums it up what was going on in the round. he felt that punch for a good while. i was cheering for clottey but thought it was over for him if cotto could get something through that was clean.

clottey in an interview said that those left hand counters were very effective and that he needed to readjust after taking a few.

:goodGood, sharp counter punches too.I think he was letting Cotto tire his self out. After that round that's when Cotto started to lose his steam.
