Chagaev wouldn't be in the top ten of Lewis' all time wins list. He's #1 on Wlad's

and yet people have the gall to compare the two. I've read some saying Wlad's on his way to being the all time greatest. That he's already an all time great.

All time great champions, especially against this caliber of opponent, leave no questions. There remain questions with this guy. He moved his feet a little better tonight, that's about all i took out of it. Solid dominating performance against an average HW. Don't let Chagaev's ranking fool you, he isn't the only guy to beat Valuev, Holyfield did that too.

    Lewis is better than Wlad.

That said, Chagaev's career isn't over. Whether or not he ends up being the type of fighter that would make a Lewis top 10 opponents isn't yet settled, and won't be until they hang em up. As it stands, I think he already has a case, and that is a rash statement.

And explain if you find that Tyson that was in with Lewis if he is better??
Or even Holy who was washed up even then?
    Or Rahman?
    Or Botha?
    Or Tua??

You gonna tell me these guys are better then Chagaev???

Sam Peter put up a hell of alot better fight than Chagaev did tonite. I dont understand why a 6'0 tall boxer wants to try and box a 6'6 guy from a distance, not only that, but continue walking into his power hand. The way Chagaev fought tonite, Ruslan should of put a bow around his neck and handed Wlad a birthday card, it really couldn't get much easier for Wlad tonite.

This happens every time after a Klitschko win.... numerous threads comparing him to boxers of the past, describing how a certain boxer would have knocked Klitschko out, etc. Funny as hell and seems to never get old with these people (haters).

Yes, but Klitschko's mental level was at an all-time low coming into the fight against Peter. Btw, if not for those knockdowns, Peter's performance would have been on par with Chagaev's.

10 guys better than 2009 Chagaev:

    2003 Vitali

    2002 Tyson

    2001 Rahman

    2000 Tua

    2000 Grant

    99 Holyfield

    97 Golota

    97 McCall

    96 Mercer

    93 Bruno

they all beat tonight's Chagaev. Not all as impressively than Wlad did tonight, Wlad's certainly better than many of these guys. But Chagaev is really average historically. So average.

wait a minute, before talking about why 02 version of Tyson was better than Chagaev, what credentials did Chagaev bring to the ring tonight?

Tyson was so far past it and so humbled but he had the "puncher's chance". Chagaev didn't even bring that.

The Peter fight took place in September of 05, that would have been 17 months since his lose to Brewster in April of 04. Thats enough time to get past a knockout lose, at least most fighters do.

Peter not only knocked Wlad down numerous times, but also made him clinch excessively, and panic a couple times. Peter gave Wlad a tough fight, anyone that took the time to watch it will tell you. There were times where Wlad looked down right scared of Peter, we certainly didn't see him do that tonite against Chagaev.

    I'll do it for him.

I consider these lewis wins better than Chagaev.

Vitali, Holyfield, Tua, Tucker, Morrison (maybe), Tyson (Old Tyson..maybe), Ruddick (debatable?) Bruno (eh im stretching it)

    Thats 8 with 4 debatable.

If i was looking for other names. Michael grant, Botha, golota, Briggs, Mccall, mason, mercer

Eh he isnt as far off as I would have initially thought. I would still rank Chagaev inside the top 10 but at the bottum of the top 10.

The only two guys from your list I'd be certain to best Chagaev are Vitaliy and Tyson. Everyone else one can easily argue about...
