Is it one of the best fights of the decade so far?

It wasn't that great. It was great because of Pavlik coming back from the dead and being an underdog all the way through, but there wasn't any absolutely astonishing action or skill. Maybe in the top 20 fights of the decade, being generous.

Good fight, but I thought it was clear after the fifth round that there was only going to be one winner.

It was okay; I've been meaning to revisit this actually.

From what I recall it wasn't even FOTY, or top three, so among the best of the decade? I'd have to say **** no.

Any fight stuck in the same decade as the Izzy Vasquez-Rafa Maquez trilogy, Manny Pac vs JMM double shot and the Morales-Pac trilogy is going to be very far down the list.

I think Taylor vs Pavlik was a really good fight BTW...although I'll admit I really liked the 2nd fight as well. Very technical and a different pace from their first fight.

One minor nitpick: Morales-Pacquiao III was not exactly an epic. Epic milestone for Pac, historic and poignant torch-passing moment, all those things yes - not an epic fight. :yep

It was an excellent fight, off the top of my head, the best MW title fight since Castro-Jackson 1.

As far as best of this decade though, it's not all that high on the list.

    Trinidad-Vargas
    Barrera-Morales 1, 3
    Pacquiao-Morales 1-2
    Marquez-Vazquez trilogy
    Brewster-Liakhovich
    Sithatchawal-Monishpour
    Margarito-Cotto
    Corrales-Castillo
    Gatti-Ward 1
    Toney-Jirov
    Arthur-Gomez
    Cotto-Torres
    Ward-Burton/Augustus
    Marquez-Diaz

While some of these didn't have the signficance of a legit middleweight title fight, the sustained action was better in these bouts.

Good call. IF one of Pavlik's 3 wicked fights of 2007 had the best chance for FOTY, Miranda fight was ****in' awesome. Round 2 of that fight is one of the best single rounds I can think of (especially at the weight, I know Izzy/Rafa had some hellacious rounds). Pavlik had Miranda backed into a corner and both men were just unleashing hell on each other. Hell of a fight.:yep
