Wlad is already a greater champion than Mike Tyson.

Exept Wlad hasnt unified the titles to become Undisputed champion to create a new line, so how can Buffer call him lineal champion if he hasnt done that or beaten a lineal champion??? Tyson unified the Undisputed championship and beat the lineal champ.

 

If you consider amount of money they made per fight, Tyson is way ahead and in this culture it's a definition of greatness.

The guy earned 38 Million in 1989 dollars for a single fight. This is ~70 mil today. Both Klits didn't make that much in their whole careers.

 

Nor would this Wlad Klit have struggled with many of Tyson's, with the exception of Ruddock.

Tony Tubbs? Buster Douglas? Pinklon Thomas? 37 year old Larry Holmes? Tyrell Biggs?

 

With the defensive clinic Wlad put on today I have a hard time picturing any version of the 5'10", short arms to boot, Tyson getting inside of Wlad. It would have been a 12 round 'jab, grab & run' and we would all have been bored to tears, but I see Wlad pulling it out.

 

Tyson would have wrecked his world. He would have ducked under the jab and used the split second provided to unleash combinations to the body and head. Wlad would be straight up ****ed.

 

Agreed. As I said earlier Tyson is a horrible match-up for WALDO but to be fair to WALDO prime Tyson is a horrible match-up for just about anyone.

Tyson always ahd a hard time with big awkward fighters. Tucker, Douglas, Ruddock, Green, Smith.

I think the Tyson that demolished Berbick would ahve done as you say. The problem is that that Tyson existed only for one brief and terrifying moment in history. Tyson is the better man overall, but Wlad has been better for longer.

 

Wlad is far superior and would have beat everyone Tyson faced in his prime (title years). Thats not even an issue

 

I rate Foreman very highly even though his period of greatness was only a couple of years.

Ranking is based on what criterion you feel is most important,when judging a fighter.

A fighter's longevity is secondary to his peak abilities in my personal opinion.

 

I still think Ruddock would have been a tough fight for Wlad. Not saying Wlad would not have won, but he would ahve to re-find that killer instinct and do what Lewis did.

"The Smash" was just an incredible weapon.

 

Most people say resume is the most important. Tysons resume isnt that great, really. Second people look at things like title defenses (like a joe louis), maybe lastly they look at longevity and things such as fame and infamy.

 

I don't consider Green and Tucker hanging on for dear life in the last half of the fight -or in the case of Bonecrusher Smith ,running for twelve rounds as being particularly torrid nights for Tyson.

Efficient performances from Mike more than anything else.

 

What's interesting is that after some very embarrassing losses Wladimir got better (yes, that's a supreme understatement) and actually entered the all-time conversation. After his first embarrassing loss it was more or less all downhill for Iron Mike. :think

Ruddock was a good puncher, ill give you that, but he was terribly inconsistent and had a really weak resume. He'd have a punchers chance and his hands werent terribly fast. i think waldo would have handled him fairly easily.
