He wouldn't beat Clottey up. And you know he wouldn't. And the 2007 Mosley was better than the steriod up 2003 version. Mosley was limiting himself at that time from all the weightlifting he was doing. If you want proof of that watch the second Winky Wright fight compared to the fights before it.

the 2007 moseley was DEFINTLEY not better than the 2000 version of moselyt who oscar took to a razor think split decision.

A 1990s Oscar would embarrass clottey

Please. Tito has only a punchers chance and Cotto would kick Quaretey ass and probably knock him out. Clottey was stronger than Qarentey with a better defense and more diverse and even he said Cotto was eons better than margo and stronger. And the same Whitiker that fought De La Hoya would lose too.

He was better than the 2003 version you brought up and the 2003 De La Hoya is tecnically better than the 2000 version and that would be the difference. You can see that miles away. And 1990'w version would not embarass Clottey, you can make Oscar more he is all you want but seriously underestimating Clottey, the same same Clottey who would of dominated Marg if he didn't injure his hands.

I just think Mosley is Oscar's Iran Barkley.

I'm not sure there are any adjustments Cotto could make in his training regimen or arsenal to reach the same level in head-to-head ability as a prime Oscar. His peak capacity is just a few marks lower; no fault of his own.

The 2007 mosley was throwing combinations more fluidly than the 2003 version. Mosley looked like **** in 2003 and that was mostly do to all the weightlifting he was doing. Evem Larry Merchant said Mosley starting throwing combinations again around the time he fought Collazo, Cotto, and Marg like he did at lightweight. And the punchstat numbers were showing that. So stop saying Mosley was washed or old in 2007. He's ****ing welterweight champion world right now.

He's far more versatile than Oscar will ever be and if you watch their fights, you can clearly see it. You guys can be nostalgic all you want and glorify an used to be great fighter all day if you choose, because the past always looks good.

You guys have to stop seeing boxing like that. True is, Oscar was faster and technically better than Cotto. But they are two different animals. Cotto has his way, and so far it has work pretty damn well. Being a better boxer doesn't always mean you are going to get the victory. Weird **** happens in the ring sometimes, especially if the other guy can hit very hard.

I was never a massive Oscar fan and only followed the tail end of his career in relative terms (Vargas on...during which Oscar batted roughly .500 - great in baseball, terrible in boxing). I also like Cotto quite a bit - probably at least as much as ODHL if not more. So I'm not nostalgic or biased. Cotto can add all the elements he wants to his game. He can hook up with Nacho Beristain, Freddie Roach, AND Roger Mayweather - he's still only got so much capacity. Greater versatility does not equate to superior head-to-head ability. Prime Oscar will always have more head-to-head ability than any version of Cotto we might see (or might have ever seen).

    Cotto.

Cotto has unbelievable timing and can fight going side to side and off the back foot. I'm not dissing ODLH by saying this, either, it's more about the respect I have for Cotto's gifts.

Oscar's defense is likely superior, however. Cotto does not have a great guard and can't clinch to save his life.

Nothing Cotto has cancels out the left hook.

Oscar's jab is better (though Miguel's is certainly coming along).

    Much better finisher.

Cotto may have collected more tricks up his sleeve, but Oscar's few tricks were absolute doozies. Where Cotto might win in the "how many different positives can you name in his technique" category, Oscar possessed the tangibles to equalize those positives.

Oh and it's cause you said so? Cotto's career isn't even half thru yet. You don't know what Cotto is gonna achieve in the future. If he beat Mayweather I bet you any money everybody in this forum and the world would be saying he's one of the best welterweights of all time and you guys wouldn't even put De La Hoya in the same breath as him

Oscar even has a better hook to the body than Miguel.

Miguel is a good fighter but from a tools standpoint, give me ODLH every day of the week and twice on fight night.
