Where are biased Diaconu fans that said...

at home devastated. they thought he could even hang in the ring with dawson. what a shame to be so fooled. after i saw what henry was made of and knowing henry gave him a good fight i knew it was a non issue for dawson. and i figured if pascal didnt let his chin hang out too much he would get the win but didint expect it to look so easy.

going by the **** in this thread you'd think it was Dawson who beat Diaconu and not Pascal

 

If Dawson were in the ring last night and not Pascal, Dawson gets KO'd. Pascal took some damn hard shots, and there is no way in hell that Chad could take those punches.

I wrote it after the fight: Last night made it even clearer to me why Dawson and his camp wants no part of Diaconu: You get NO rest in the fight, you can get dropped at any time and you can hardly hurt Diaconu.

Chad would be in danger every minute of every round vs AD, and if he dropped his hands like he did vs Tarver -- WHAMMO -- night, night.

Pascal has 10x the balls of Dawson. I really gained a lot of respect and appreciation for Pascal last night, even more than from the Froch fight.

I still want to see Dawson vs Diaconu, and now I want to see Dawson vs Pascal.

 

Pascal got hit because fought with his hands at his waist. Diaconu was far to slow and seemingly Pascal could have won if he had just jabbed his way to a victory. What we do know, as proof by only having 15 KO's in 27 fights is that Diaconu is not a knockout puncher.

There is no way Diaconu would touch Dawson. He is just a slower cruder version of Adamek.

 

while i was watching the fight i was thinking the exact same thing. dawson would have schooled diaconu twice as bad as pascal did. wouldn't mind seeing dawson take out pascal now. that would be a fun fight to watch.

 

Oh no, and I have a lot of respect for Adamek.

Diaconu might be slower, though. Adamek has fast hands.

Diaconu is a very skilled fighter. Pascal's speed and movement bothered him. So would Dawson's. The difference is that when Pascal stopped to engage or got tired of being on his feet, he fought like a freaking warrior and willed himself to take the shots. The same punches Pascal took would have dropped Chad, or froze him for follow-ups.

If you don't think Diaconu punches hard, ask Pascal. There was a reason his strategy was to keep his distance, even though he's the larger man.

 

I also think Dawson would beat Diaconu but at the end of the day its Pascal who beat him, not Dawson. Would've, could've, shoud've, but didn't

 

DIaconu is a nobody. Why should Dawson care about fighting scrubs? Diaconus performance just proves he wouldnt have had a chance.

27 fights. 15 KO's. Whats he gonna do? Out box Dawson? :rofl

 

You might be right. Maybe one day we will find out.

I see it as a Cotto > Mosley, Margo > Cotto, Mosley > Margo kind of thing. A styles/abilities issue (though I thought Mosley beat Cotto).

Who knows? Maybe Chad doesn't have any lulls and/or just smother Diaconu in close and Adrian never gets to throw anything meaningful. I could see that, if Chad were focused. :bbb

 

You just cant let it go can you...adamek losing to Dawson has really tainted you as a fan...

I for one ever took those guys for anything more then a couple of homers. Diaconu isnt a bum but he isnt a world class fighter either. He was a guy that was built up based on a close win(that many thought he lost) over Henry who is a clubfighter, and Rico Hoye who couldnt even win the freaking contender. Now we are going to have to listen to Pascal being over rated based on beating a fighter that was himself vastly over rated.
