Morales could have very easily been just like Mayweather...

but HE chose to do battle in the ring.

He had every bit the skill to operate the same way Mayweather does in the ring but chose to be a warrior and thus a more appreciated fighter.

    I appreciate this.

    Do you?

Morales is one of the greats and I hope he stays retired, but hes not on Mayweathers level. He would battle alot more then Mayweather but thats what set them apart. Mayweather worked on everything in boxing inculding a great defense which Morales lacked. Nothing wrong with that though 2 great boxers I always liked to watch

So could MAB, but he chose to fight the toughest fighters he could find. Good luck finding a Pac or EM fan to give him credit for it.

He could have easily been a 5 weight division champion, fighter of the year twice, P4P#1 for 2 years, undefeated, one of the greatest of this generation and olympic bronze medalist but decided to pick up gladiator status instead?

    I believe you.

There are two types of posters on this board. The ones who know what they are talking about don't let favoritism hinder their input. Then there is FINITO.

 You know what he meant.

Morales could have made a lot of fights easier on himself, and also took easier fights, but Morales has universal respect for a reason.

I'm not hating on Mayweather, but do you really think people resent him simply because he's good?

I believe that just like Morales had major fights he had to take Mayweather had his share unless people believe fighting Margarito at 147 is a better move than moving up a new weight division fighting Oscar for a new title.

If Morales had better options he would have taken them, the Pacquiao fight came when he needed it coming off a loss to Barrera. Wasn't Morales planning to ignore a rematch with Pacquiao by moving up in weight to fight Raheem because he couldn't make the 130 anymore but ended up forced to go back and take the Pac rematch at 130?

I can bring up far more business decisions in Morales' career being a huge fan of his. People tend to ignore that and follow bull**** that makes them feel happy.

During their time, what really bugged me was the misconception that Marco was the gentleman while MOrales was viewed as somewhat of a bad guy, an arrogant fighter. No matter what kinda **** each fighters talked outside the ring, inside the ring, it was Morales who never cheated and kept his honor.. It was Morales who had the good sportsmanship despite all the **** he talked outside the ring.. Total opposite of MArco..

People mistook Marco as some baby faced gentleman but that was total bull**** and i always knew it.. He's a perfect gentleman when things are going well and dandy but when he's at a disadvantage, his true colors came out.. Always... These are facts, bro..
