my understanding is when mayweather left top rank he sued bob for money that he claim he was not paid- crazy thing is arum declined a fight a fight with cotto and floyd a few years ago yet he does not bring that up- when floyd was with top rank arum claim floyd was better than suagr ray now he is scared to fight anyone and only fights little guys lol
sad part is the casual fan might believe good ole bob claims- wait to cotto leaves, arum will try to trash him the way he trashed oscar and floyd-

Mayweather always wanted a fight with DLH and his move up in weight wasn't for Margarito it was to secure future fights with Mosley or DLH. With Arum and his issues with DLH at the time it wasn't going to happen so he had to leave him.

Right Floyd wanted to fight Oscar but Arum and Oscar had issues. Floyd also had some feelings as towards Arum potentially stalling his career in favor of other fighters.

Mayweather had the same problem with Arum that Juan Manuel Marquez had with him........they both refused to bend over and be dry humped by that old scumbag.....

.....both Mayweather and JMM were Grade A fighters, just exceptionally talented fighters worthy of getting promoted properly....but Arum treated them like second class as he was too busy hyping the likes of DLH and Erik Morales who he promoted.

Nothing wrong with hyping DLH and Morales, but whats wrong with putting in the same effort for that talent that was Mayweather and JMM???

Arum did absolutely nothing to hype and promote what were his two most talented fighters under his umbrella.....what he did instead was publicly ridicule and degrade them through the media for the simple fact that both Mayweather and Marquez questioned Arum's moves on behalf of them.

Except for media darlings like DLH.....Arum has always been the type of promoter to get nasty and spew venom if a fighter under his stable refused to drop his pants and bend over at his say so!

Simply stated, Arum takes advantage and treats his stable of fighters like a dog would go at meat. He cares nothing about the fighter and imo goes to lenghths even beyond what Don King does to take advantage of a fighter for his own monetary game.

A promoter wants to make money, absolutely.....but what the hell is wrong with making sure that the fighters get their fair amount of it?

The beef between floyd and Arum started back before the fight with Chico, who was also being promoted by Arum. Arum said that Chico was a real fighter and that Mayweather was a pre-modona. Arum said that he was looking forward to moving on with Chico after he knocked floyd out. As Divac stated Arum looked at Floyd as a guy that wouldnt generate the public interest the way that Latino fighter would and spent more time on those careers. It was also the funky Deal that Arum wanted Mayweather to sign with him and hbo that was something like 12 fights for 4 million per. Floyd wasnt willing to do that deal because it didnt take into account that he would rise in status. Arum stated that Floyd thought he was Roy Jones or Oscar and he would never get the kinds of purses that those guys get.

Arum is a big reason why some of the fights that people wanted to see like Mayweather-Margacheato, and Mayweather-Cotto never went down, even though the haters want to swear up and down that it was all Mayweather's fault and all that other garbage they spew. I just hope their issues can be put aside in order to give us Mayweather-Pac.

Best post on this subject. Arum is POS and nothing he says can be taken seriously. He's the worst scum in boxing and is a big reason why great fights don't get made.

Arum owes Floyd money period. All you have touched on it, but the biggest reason is that Arum owes Floyd money. Arum says Floyd owes him money...for what? Arum's character is that he will not let his fighters fight outside fighters(outside of Top rank) if he can be the sole promoter. I wouldn't be surprised if he owes Pac and Cotto money right now.
