Even though he lost, I thought Ruslan looked good.

What was with the moving into Wlad's power? Did Chagaev have a corner? No one mentioned 'hey, genius, you're asking to be ktfo if you keep circling the wrong way'?

His head movement isnt "Mike-Like" at all. If that is the only reason for his monikor then the fact he wore black shorts would have been a better qualification.

Ruslan is like John Ruiz with better head movement. He just walks forward in straight lines pawing with his jab in a rather uneducated fashion. I didnt see him land anything of any note on Vlad. He looked extremely amateurish and to be frank iv never seen what the big deal is with this guy. Last night confirmed that for me.

He was simply standing infront of Wlad getting hit the entire fight. Chagaev looked like garbage in IMO. I was expecting a lot more from him. :verysad

At the very least I expected him to be slightly more aggressive and put on a mildly competitive fight, but what he did there was his bes immitation of a human punching bag.

Fighters with great records and/or promise end up being bums after fighting Klitschko. No better example than Ibragimov who starched Mora, toyed with Shannon Briggs, knocked down Ray Austin who had a huge height and reach advantage, and completely befuddled Holyfield who looked his best in years. Against Klitschko he was completely inept as have been all of Klitschko's opponents in recent memory. He's just that good. Having said that, I saw a couple of things that worried me. The few punches that Chagaev did land seemed to bother Wladimir inordinately, and Wlad missed almost all his right leads.

I was impressed with how Chagaev, even after getting nailed, would still bob and weave and try to work his way inside.

I think Chagaev's effort, in light of the thrashing he took, was impressive.

He kept coming until he could come no more.

I noticed that, too, some time ago.

On this site, with these posters we have here, the wonders never cease. :-(

  12. And how awful was his guard !!!! Wlad was able to break thru it at will, whats the point of holding your hands up if your going to leave a massive gap between them.... and he never ****in adjusted it for all the 10 rounds

I was disapointed with Chagaev. He didn't use lateral movement and was in line for Wlad's punches, he used head movement but wasn't moving forward to make it effective. When Wlad slowed down a bit around round 6, Chagaev didn't take the fight to him. Overall, Chagaev didn't look good at all.

He didn't look good, some of that has to do with Wlad, and some it has to do with Chaegev implementing the wrong game plan.
