yea maybe he did draw a **** load of viewers but it was mainly thanks to Haye!!
NO WAY Would Wlad v Chagaev sold out in a matter of days or even reached 60,000...
Haye was the attraction...people wanted to see him Knocked the **** out + their was a large number of uk fans who had bought tickets.

You are wrong here. Wlad sells out everyone of his fights. He is the biggest thing in germany at the moment. The tickets sales were pre sold before Haye pussied out, but the viewers wouldnt have been as High if it was about Haye. It is about Wlad.

in all seriousness, though. There's no way Wlad could have even touched those numbers in the U.S.

But it makes me wonder how well other boxers from around the world would fair in Europe?

How much better would have Mayweather/Hatton done in Europe? Pacquiao/Hatton?

Wladimir Klitschko: “It’s unbelievable and wonderful. I’m overjoyed to be the winner here. Five years ago, after the defeat against Corrie Sanders I was at the bottom. Since then, I’ve only wanted to make the critics eat their words. I love my sport, like I’ve never loved it….This was not my best fight. I gave my all, but I didn’t show everything. My best and my toughest fight lies yet ahead of me.”

And now, Wlad "Deutsche Mark" Klitschko, is the biggest draw in boxing. Sorry Manny!

That is a lie...though I was very surprised to see a German judge...but then Wlad is not a German.
Hill beat Maske in Germany. Botha beat Schulze in Germany.

European judges rate a jab that lands as a point, unlike American Judges who don't and then give points for a pretty hook to the gloves.

Well this goes to show you that Germany in particular has a better boxing audience than the USA. I am an american and this is the sad truth. We get maybe at best like a 1% market share for the big fights, its usually a lot less. Wlad just did a 60% market share....think about that.

Fair point..he does sell out 20k ish? in germany and is obviously a big draw there but I stil reckon he wouldnt have pulled out the 60k without Hayes dodgy promotion tactics...even if it did go slightly below the belt!

    the germans are crazy!

All i know is that a Wlad/Chagaev fight would've struggled to sell 10,000 seats anywhere in the US. No one in America cares about that boring Wlad. They want their HWs to be exciting.

Very true, but americans dont care about boxing..I am with you, i am born and raised USA. The fact is the world audience, specifically germany has much more rabid boxing fans. In the USA everyone knows boxing is a tier 4 sport, way behind football, baseball, basketball and along the lines of soccer and hockey..its patheitc.
