Can Jermain Taylor bounce back and rise back to the top !!!

I like Jermain, I think he has caught a lot of stick for what he hasn't done in some fights but he bounced onto the scene and he was the man who put an end to Future HOF Bernard Hopkins reign.

Is he finished or can he find it in him to rise to the occasion 1 more time ?

 

Would love to see it but doubtful.

 

If he could pull a Barrera and change his fighting style maybe. But I doubt it.

 

I just finished watching some documentaries on Jermain and its so easy to forget what he did do when he stepped onto the scene but I guess your right, he seems to be mentally finished more than physically.



Maybe a change in trainer or someone who can actually get Jermain to last 12 rounds solid and also to re-model him but that's wishful thinking.


I say he should fight an Allan Green or even Andre Ward

It's a step back to go forward

Jermain Taylor can give any fighter at his weight difficulty.

 

I think he still has some left to be a champ again... he just has to forget the media and fans and fight his own fight, even if its boring... he seems to think too much in the later rounds and at time has exchange many times with his last few opponents to be more exciting... if he goes back to pleasing himself first even if its call what some call boring... we could see him at the top again...

He's got to polish his flaws to have a chance. The guy is just frustrating because he wows you in one second and disappoints you the next.

Given his flaws, he needs to stay away from rugged, durable, plodders like Pavlik and Froch. His defense is such that anyone who comes right at him, he goes straight backwards with no lateral movement which plays right into these type of fighter's hands.

I think he has better chances against other fast handed guys. Someone who will stand in the middle of the ring and exchange combinations with him instead of someone who will come at him all night long. That's why i think he would have a chance against Bute but get dominated by Andrade.

I really like JT and i hope he can get some more big wins before he's done.

 

Basically what i'm saying is that JT doesn't have the defense or lateral movement to keep these straight forward, plodders off of him. He's not an in-fighter nor can he side step guys. He just doesn't have an answer for these type of fighters, especially if they can take a punch and keep on coming.

He would look a lot better against guys who he can exchange with in the middle of the ring where hand speed would play a big part.
