I doubt that. If they had the Wlad/Chagaev fight at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, i seriously doubt that more than 10,000 seats would be sold.
We'd likely see 10k germans and Ukrainians come over to fill a vegas venue. When they were doign the national anthem of ukraine a LOT of people were singing.
Ok do you in anyway shape or form, for any fight, think the USA would ever do 60% market share? I think if you payed the american viewer to watch a boxing match...lets say 5 dollars a viewer, you wouldnt even see a 60% marketshare. Its just phenomenal.
Trust me,nothing is for free.Do you think that the German TV didn't have to pay gigantic bucks to show this to their audience?TV has to recoup their monies through advertisers or subscribers.A 60% share for anything is simply phenominal!:admin
Just to get perspective of how big a 60% markets share is for us USA guys. The first two games of the Lakers-Magic final averaged 13.5 million viewers and a 14 share 95 million viewers tuned in to this year’s Super Bowl between the Arizona Cardinals and the Pittsburgh Steelers. The game was the second most watched Super Bowl in history, behind the 97.5 million that watched last year’s championship. So last years superbowl was roughly a 28-35% market share.
LOL at this thread. So let me get this straight. Wlad is a major attraction because he gets a good share of tv viewers in Germany. Then he sells out a stadium in Germany all on his own. Absolutely hilarious. Keep going Klit lovers
Does it say that the germans are the biggest boxing fans in the world? Or does it say that Wlad is the biggest draw? Or both?
I wouldnt say it means waldos the biggest draw... The german fans just enjoy a night out, i mean come on.. Drool over the pussycat dolls + a few beers then boxing..sounds a good night out to me
