Lewis. I don't by into the whole Lewis was weak chinned theory. He took heavy shots off Tua, Tyson and some monsters of Vitali and held his ground. He's been stopped twice like Wlad but also took more on the chin as he fought more openly and was willing to trade more often.

Lewis got off the canvas when Mccall put him down. Wlad been tko badly by Sanders. The same Sanders that lost by tko to Rahman for freaking sakes. Wlad fought a shot in the dark Rahman.

Do we need to go into McCall's and Rahman's defeats? The Rahman that Maskaev knocked out of the ring? What does that prove. We are talking about heavyweight boxing. All it takes is one mistake, one punch... and the fight is turned on it's head. The better boxer doesn't always win. If you guys knew anything about boxing then you would sure as hell know that all knockdowns and knockouts are because of chin issues. These guys are human beings and exchange punches for a living against the best punchers in the world.

Now... only my point from before. Lewis did NOT continue against McCall after he was knocked down. He was stumbling forward into the ref as the ref reached the count of 10... at which point the fight was called off. For good reason. Wlad was back up off the canvas within the count of 3 or 4 even when the fight was waved off against Sanders. Clearly Wlad wasn't in the fight at that point, so the ref was smart and waved it off. It was also the 4th knockdown... and SEVERAL flush punches from someone who hits like a mule. Lewis on the other hand was one and done on both of his knockout losses. One punch, no return.

It suggests at least that Sanders isn't as big a puncher as you'd like to make him out to be.

It's not even an argument to any sensible fan, Lewis had the better chin and was the better fighter, with the better competition level.

Of course this is the wrong time to point this out, after yet another WALDO snooze-fest :patsch

Maybe you missed it when Rahman said a couple years ago that Corrie Sanders was the hardest puncher that he ever faced.:yep That included Lewis and Tua who Rahman had also fought at the time.

Sanders was sick when he fought Rahman, and almost had him knocked out. Rahman was down in that fight.

Bull****. Brewster put Wlad flat on his ass. He could not even walk. Lennox lewis would have killed wlads egg chin. Lewis fought way better fighters than your hero. Wlad has been fed a steady dose of tomatos his whole career.

Interestingly, Ian Darke said last night during the fight that he'd spoken to Sanders before the Klitschko fight and Sanders told Darke that he was "only there for the payday and is ready to retire anyway"

I'm sure British fans will back me up on that, they must have heard it too. Sanders wasn't even motivated for the WALDO fight, yet he bounced him around the ring like a basketball :rofl

When did WALDO last fight a guy that was 6 foot 5 who could box and punch, I wonder :think

Sanders was the last one I recall who was 6 foot 4, and AVERAGE. Look what happened.

Yeah? Larry Holmes said Bonecrusher Smith hit harder than Tyson, does it make it true? Funny how the hardest puncher is never the guy who knocked them out isn't it?

Realistically... Lewis made his name off of beating a bunch of American fighters back when American's were the only show in town. Most of them were overhyped. Now that the entire world is opened up to boxing... we see the difference. The American Media hype machine can really build people up. Look at Razor Ruddock... what the **** did that man ever do? Michael Grant... ect... those guys were NOT that good. His competition level is inflated by the fact that those guys were American fighters during a time when American media was really hyping the Heavyweights.

Now that most of the top Heavyweights in the world aren't from the United States... they simply aren't getting the media coverage and attention that they deserve. The difference here isn't in talent throughout the world. The difference is in star power brought on by the American Media.

Hell... they had half of the world convinced that Dominick Guinn was a mix of Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield before Monte Barrett beat him.:-( We won't bother talking about his wins over old Mike Tyson, or old Evander Holyfield because they clearly weren't what they used to be by the time he fought them.

    I'm American by the way.

First off, neither of these guys are as fragile as some people like to make out. You don't become heavyweight champion of the world if you can't take a punch.

I'd say Lewis has the better chin. Lewis fought much better fighters, and much more powerful fighters. Lewis' two losses are to higher caliber fighters than Wlad's 3 losses. Lewis has only been down twice in his career, while I have lost count of how many times Wlad has been down.

Sanders is a part time fighter. Sanders said he never seen a chin as weak as wlads. Lewis would have never lost to t he golfer. Why can't you admit that wlad can't take a punch? Peter put wlad down 3 times and peter is a fat bum. TOS put wlad down and he sucks as Joe Mesi showed us. Steve pannel put him on his ass too. Brewster almost put wlad down with a left jab.

FYI. Fighters ALWAYS say that the guy they beat punched harder than the guy who beat them.
