Floyd is supremely skilled at his craft. He truly has boxing down to a science. His work ethic his legendary and thats why he retired as the p4p king. As i've previously mentioned, the majority of hate for PBF comes from non African Americans who don't understand or just don't like the flamboyance, and trash talking style of a lot of black athletes. The reason why they tolerate Mosley is becasue he is the type of black man they like. Well spoken, doesn't use any slang, and just acts friendly. Their hatred for Floyd is so strong that they can't even be objective. But im still going to give them a chance. i want to hear from all Floyd haters, why is it that you call Floyd a cherry picker, and claim he ducked all these fighters when yesterday a fellow ESB'er posted clear, and damning video evidence of Floyd asking for Mosley, and Mosley adamantly refusing to fight him because his tooth hurt (awww!) and he wanted to go on a trip. Where is all the rage calling Mosley a cherry picker? And why is it that Mosley gets a pass for cheating? If Mayweather were to be caught using steroids, there would be no end to the hate, no forgiveness. But since Mosley uses them and claims he didnt know (Liar) its all good. Would you all give Floyd the same pass if he said he didn't know.
Show me some proof that most ringside had cotto beating Clottey. I asked you about this in another thread and you never got back to me.
The reason people hate Floyd is because they've forgotten how to have class and show respect for people who master their craft. They've also forgotten the way in which Floyd adapted his style to allow him to fight much bigger opponents when getting to 147. They see Floyd now as a defensively minded fighter - not the guy that used to blast people out of the ring when he was the same size as them. In my view, he's the perfect example of a guy realising it's better to walk out the winner with your senses intact than the Gatti who walks out the peoples hero but has limited finances and an even more limited sense of self following his career. It's the new age, boxers aren't necessarily the idiots they used to be like Frazier and co.
I don't think people hating Floyd has anything to do with his ability. I think it's more to do with people believing he protected his zero by fighting poor-decent opposition 140-147 (Baldomir, Hatton, Judah) when there were far better fighters out there (Mosley, Williams, Margarito, Cotto, Tszyu). People will always dislike someone they believe isn't up for securing fights with the best comp available.
shut up you racist *******. It has NOTHING to do with floyd being black. The mosley comparison you made is downright horrendous. You truly are human garbage. People like mosley because hes a nice guy, people dislike mayweather because he comes off as a cocky vain dickhead (his boring style dosent help him either). So dont come off her spouting your ****ing racist bull****. NO one likes assholes, no matter what color they are
I see what ur tying to say, but you can't blame him for fighting Baldomir and Judah, they were the champions of the division. They had the belts, and afterall that's the ultimate goal to be the champ. Hatton was undefeated as well and in the top 5 of a lot of p4p rankings.
floyd is talented but his reluctance to fight the most dangerous and riskiest opposition like COTTO, MARGARITO, MOSLEY and WILLIAMS overshadows his performances. Why does he continue to make so many excuses to duck those fighters? It appears floyd lacks the confidence to test himself against the very best. Arum says "Floyd will not fight anyone who can beat him. " Maybe it's like this: floyd wont' fight anyone he knows he can't beat. floyd got the shot to be a superstar from Gatti and OScar. But floyd won't share the wealth with Cotto, Mosley, and he totally ducked Margarito. floyd is damaging the integrity of the sport by ducking the best in favor of handpicked set up fights.
Baldomir was linear champion at the time - Floyd was just going after the belt holder in my view. A stinker of a fight to watch but only because Baldomir was so outgunned. Judah (prior to the loss to Baldomir) was the guy everyone said was too fast and powerful and would beat Floyd up, not just beat him. Had Floyd not faced Judah, chances are he'd be named in your list of people he should have faced. Hatton was the best at 140lbs, had beaten Tszyu so represented "the man" at 140. His style before the fight was seen to be the style that could be effective vs Floyd due to his pressure, body punching and wrestling - it's only really after he got outgunned by Floyd that people forgot that Cotto vs Floyd could still happen, Mosley vs Floyd was a fight Floyd wanted but Mosley didn't, now Floyd doesn't want it. Williams, Margarito - in my view, these guys are not welterweights and I don't blame a guy who started his career for not wanting to fight guys who would be comfortable and quite "big" at 160, let alone 147. The problem is people don't realise the mechanics of how fights are put together, how hard it is to get Arum to work a deal with Floyd because of their history or vice versa with GBP and Arum/Don King. Once all that's done and said, you've got sanctioning agencies throwing in mandatories, you've got boxers hesitant to fight unless they get what they perceive to be a fair deal in money and ultimately, fights are not easy to put together in many situations, especially when both fighters consider themselves "Money".
You're one of those moronic, irrational idiots I was talking about. Did you read my post? i didn't say that anybody was a racist, i just said that they don't understand his culture. The sport of boxing is a scientific sport about beating up your opponent with your fists. And mayweather is one of the best to do it. Its not a popularity contest, or a "let me say nice things about my opponent" contest. At the end of the day its about 2 combatants doing battle to see who is the better man. And the 39 times Floyd has done battle. he's won.
Excellent post. People don't realize, Floyd has only had 5 fights above 140. One was at 154 in which he took DLH's junior middleweight title in the richest fight in boxing history. That leaves 4 fights left fought at welterweight. In his first fight ever at 147 he fought Sharmba mitchell. Then he fought Judah and Baldomir who were the champions and belt holders of the division which is what your supposed to do. Then he fought undefeated and p4p ranked junior welterweight king ricky hatton in another lucrative fight.
I never said you called anyone a racist, im calling YOU a racist. Mayweather talks alot of ****, then back pedals when he fights. Also, he is so ****ing vain and egotistical its annoying. And did i mention he comes off as an arrogant fool when he speaks? WHAT THE **** DOES THAT HAVE TO DO WITH BLACK CULTURE? mosley on the other hand, dosent talk ****, actually comes to fight, and is a generally nice guy. and he dosent need to keep repeating that hes the best either. THat sounds alot more like black culture to me.
