    A little defensive aren't you?

Floyd acts like a dick, therefore people don't like him.

    It's not irrational, it's logical.

So your saying that you don't like Mayweather because he talks trash, even though boxing is a brutal sport, even though he works his ass off, and beats naturally larger men with his skill whether you like his style or not.

You would prefer a guy like Mosley who is a cheater and used steroids in a sport as dangerous as boxing. Please explain that?

Not really, i didnt say you had to like him, but haters are so irrational that they hold him to a double standard. Thats what im saying.

I never said that i dont like mayweather as a fighter. I think hes a legend and one of my faves. BUt as a person, he sucks. He talks all this **** about kicking ass, then back pedals and pot shots. I dont like people who talk **** about fighting, then when it comes down to it, he runs.

Mosley did use steriods ok. But i beleive in second chances. WHen it first came out. yea i was pissed. But you know what? He has won me over again by kicking ass, and actually TRYING TO FIGHT. Everyman deserves a second chance, mosley has his from me. Floyd is just a punk. This has nothing to do with either of them being black.

Look at how desperately you're trying to justify Floyd acting like a dick:

    Then you try to deflect:

    What's your problem?

Floyd acts like a ****, so he's treated like a ****. You're trying to say people should love him anyway, because of how hard he works and how he fights bigger men, and also because Mosley used banned substances

What sort of an idiot are you?

well, the only real complaint should be about the people mayweather fights. if its about his personality, then you should look at muhammed ali, the king if **** talking. thats how mayweather acts for the most part.

In the end, Floyd's resume is not up to par with his skill. Great skill, good resume. As long as Floyd keeps talking his mouth off about being the best, that discrepancy between resume and skill will always give haters a reason to hate him.

I'm pretty sure Floyd can beat all the elite welterweights, a lot of Floyd fans think this as well. But boxing isn't about who you think will win, it's about getting those fights and winning. The best way to silence the critics is to go out and beat the big names.

Now apparently, Floyd has a 5 fight deal with GBP. Marquez is just a tune up and won't do much for Floyd's resume. But he still has 4 fights after that, so personally I just hope he uses those 4 fights to get the big names. If he does that and beats them then I think the hate on Floyd will be greatly reduced. Until then, Floyd fans will always have to defend him against the haters.

    What double standard?

He acts like a dick, so people don't like him.

It's got nothing to do with race, which you claimed in your opening post.

Or maybe you think people should love him for acting like a dick BECAUSE he's black? Now that would be racist. Special treatment because of his ethnicity :hey

Ali did it with intelligence and humour.

    Floyd does it with SUCK.

They way he conducts himself does not earn respect and undermines his achievements in the ring. Using Mosley as a comparison the way he conducts himself earns the respect of people and as a result more tolerance is accorded to his indiscretion. This does not excuse what he did, but does explain why it is received better by people. Mosley is not the type of black man people like, he is the type of man people like. Race has no need for a mention, unless you are trying to be intentionally divisive.
You say Floyd's behaviour is "the style of alot of black athletes", I think you will find similar hatred for anyone who behaves that way, regardless of whether they are black, white, green yellow or purple. Flamboyance is one thing, arrogance and disrespectful behaviour is another. It is just a very simple way to attract attention, and by using such methods you must accept that much of the attention will be negative.
That Flloyd was able to keep his cool the way he did in the Judah fight shows to me he knows exactly when he can play up and when to get down to business. This also means much of what we see of his personality is fake, and that is never going to help your level of respect no matter who you beat inside the ring, no matter how convincingly.
I'm sure Floyd doesn't really care about the haters and knows full well why they are there, if not he really believes his own bull****, in which case that is another reason to not respect him.
I don't see any of the above points being irrational, basically he acts like dick and the nut huggers wonder why he is treated like a dick. That's the irrational part. A tiny bit of humility on Flloyd's part would harness considerably more positive attention towards his achievements in the ring.

thats the thing, floyd will be favored to beat cotto, mosley, pacquiao, the same guys hes being accused of ducking. and he most likely, he beats all 3. dont think he can beat williams. but even though you're favored to beat them, you still have to prove it by actually fighting them
