Odd I remember Clay/Ali never taking any chances. EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Against Lyle, he had to go for it, he was behind in Points.....so that is not taking a chance.....and never rematched him...but that is another story.....


Of course I disliked Clay since Moore. When had he taken a chance againt the old and cagy man in the second...he could have been trapped....that was not true in the third.

I disliked Clay since the third, when he should have KO'ed him, but he mouthed and bediveled, and belittled Archie instead....because he said Moore will Fall in Four.

I guess, Wlad should learn to talk **** in the Ring like Clay/Ali, and claim loudly I'm the Greatest.....oh, that's taken like Childern Eating.
Then he could be disliked for a reason.

people like offensive minded fighters. guys who want to go in there and slug it out to someone toe to toe.

i have to admit, i like that style too, but i dont mind wlads style either.

if he still fought like he did earlier in his career, hed probably have a lot more fans outside of germany. he used to be like a real life ivan drago.

 

After Purity both brothers started taking 8 round to do in what they had done in 4...Sanders was a lesson to Wlad, and Brewster too...
Wlad is smart enough to learn his lessons....
He really tried exhitement with Brewster, and what did it get him...total disrespect.
Exhitement don't necessarly win fights...and for some very odd reason, with out a belt it was very hard for him to get a meaningfull fight.

Lewis often eased off in the last seconds of a round he won. Wlad don't.

Screw it...can't change a hater's mind.

 

Then this sport isn't for you. If every fighter was like Wlad, then Boxing would truly be in the gutter.

 

Wlad ticks the boxes as champion in my view - the only thing that may make him more of a champion is if he had a bigger mouth - worked for Holmes who was a shittier version of Wlad and worked for Tyson, Holyfield, Ali.

Lewis was lucky, he had a couple of mouths to shut - Wlad had a chance with Haye before he cried off with injury, but even Haye isn't a big mouth.

As for people wanting Wlad to take shots and be exciting, you berate the guy for having a poor chin and being susceptible to getting unnerved under pressure - when he rectifies this by working his defensive boxing techniques and becoming a nearly unbeatable fighter, you get annoyed at him.

I' like to see him be more aggressive, I don't blame him for his fights being pretty uneventful as he's way above any of his opponants in terms of talent, but I'd like to see some action and highlight reel KO's in there. He often has a dead man in front of him and doesn't go for the kill like I want to see from a heavyweight champion.

But he's a long way from the only defence minded fighter out there, and the goal of boxing is to hit and not get hit, and he does it very well, so fair play to him.

 

84% KO ratio - beats Lennox Lewis, Mike Tyson, Evander Holyfield, Roy Jones Jr, Lamon Brewster, David Tua.

Very few fighters have ever finished as many fights by KO as he has - very few fighters have beaten as many top ten undefeated contenders as he has and very few fighters have managed to dominate all opposition across a 5-6 year period like he has.

You got to remember, the guy is boxing against top ranked fighters - Chagaev was good enough to beat Savon in the amateurs and was good enough to work out the Valuev puzzle too.

You expect him to go in and spank everyone in Round 1? How boring would boxing be then?

 

At least Wlad won't end up like Joe Frazier or Muhamed Ali.

 

If Wlad fought any other way he would just risk getting KOED.

When you are a fighter you have to avoid getting KOED because you will lose the fight and your head will be sore.

I studied and worked in the field of psychology for many years. I left that line of work fairly disillusioned, when it became apparent that the cause of most problems are that people are ****wits. (I'm not talking about those who have actual diseases or damage to their brains, they are not to blame for all of their deficiencies.)

When you say that you can't change a hater's mind, you are correct. There are a statistically abberant few people who can change their minds from being irrational to being rational. But for almost everyone the rule is the same. They are irrational, it is impossible to stop them being irrational, and they are irrational because they are walking+talking pieces of ****.

I have gone a long, long way in search of what is really a pretty simple bit of knowledge - cause I didn't want it to be true. It's a ****ing awful truth.
Now you have stated that truth. There is only one thing left to do. When you come across a hater, call them a **** and put them on your ignore list. Anything else is being just as irrational as they are. Argue with them? Irrational. Try to debate with them using logic? Irrational. So yourself a favour. **** them off forever.

You are right....And I find the "Games People Play" a great book. I changed a distructive game into the Good Uncle....which is a waste of time here.

Haters are still in "child of the mind" set....and here can find like mided, so they are not so lonely.




Once in a Blue Moon, one hater will change his opinion....how ever it is not worth arguing until the Moon is Blue, for that once in a decade event.

Hell even Mr. "KO Excitement" Abraham is hated...
