Prime Julian Jackson vs. Oscar De La Hoya at 154

Jackson by stoppage, De La Hoya took too many hits in the middle rounds. Against Jackson he wouldn't have a chance to come abck strong late and finish the job, he'd be flat out on his back.


I for one think Vargas is extremely overrated.

 

I dont know why but I do actually like Hoya's chance of winning this...I just put a lot more faith in Jackson doing it more often.

Hoya had lags where he would be very inactive and stuck in the sand, usually in the middle to late rounds. He was also VERY hittable during that period, which would spell suicide against Jackson.

 

Jackson would really hurt Oscar at this weight.

 

Just watch Jackson vs Terry Norris that would be the same for Delay Hoya.

let's not forget that Oscar had a better chin than Norris.....this doesn't really help him here, his lulls in action would be his downfall and I think it would only take one or two shots to detach him from his senses.

 

IMO Oscar has the better set of whiskers between the two. Meaning he has a decent chance of knocking out Jackson, though his style makes me think he would go to a dec. win. Very interesting match-up though.

 

DLH wasn't really prime at 154, but I'd take him to win either wide on points or by stoppage.

His footwork was excellent at his peak, if Herol Graham could bust Jackson up with his jab I'd bacl Oscar to manage it also.

 

Like Graham, Oscar isn't exactly unhittable. You think he can take it back from Jackson?
