Why is Haye such an unworthy challenger?

I really hope Haye fights Wlad. He will knock him out within five rounds imo.

I give him about a 20% chance of winning. If he does win, it will be just as you say - KTFO Wlad within the first 5 rounds.

 

Haye's bravado may change very quickly when he feels by far the hardest punches that ever came his way. Or when he realizes that he doesn't really have a speed advantage, since Wlad is very effective with his movements. Or when he realizes that his sparring partners never came close to Wlad's accuracy with the jab...

 

Let's not pretend Haye had some kind of killer run at CW. He didn't.

He had unfinished business at the weight. 2 Championship fights. 2. Count them 2. Hardly undisputed, hardly cleaned up, hardly ****.

 

Yeah, I think Haye's speed advantage is hugely overstated. And I agree he will be facing the hardest hitter he has ever come across, and a pretty accurate one too.

How will he react when he gets hit? If he gets gun-shy then he might as well throw in the towel right there. He will need to be a ballsy ******* and keep going.

Haye's problem is that he wont and cant win a boxing match with Wlad. He needs to KTFO him. The longer the fight goes, the worse for Haye. So he needs to come out hard and fast and furious. That exposes him and his own shaky whiskers. If there is a knockout in the first 6 rounds I have it 40% chance Haye winning, 60% Wlad. If it goes longer then 6 I have it 100% Wlad winning, probably by KO.

So in my books Haye sticks on a solid 20% chance of winning.

(Against Vitali he doesn't even have that chance of an early KO, so he has about a 5% chance of any sort of victory)

 

Because there are already people in line that are mandatories that have done way more than he has.

I don't understand the thought process behind just because he beat Bonin and Barrett he is automatically #1 contender for every belt.

Evander Holyfield who is an ATG and better than Haye will ever be had 6 fights before he got a title shot.

Haye already talked himself into a free title shot then pulled out. He is basically begging Vitali Klitschko to give him a shot in September but it is not going to happen.

Haye must fight and secure a mandatory spot but the majority of Boxing fans know that will never happen because if Haye is forced to fight legit Heavyweights (NOT the Bonin's and Barrett's) he will get smashed.

I look for Haye to now try and take another fight against a faded Heavyweight like Oleg Maskaev and tell us how "dangerous" the fight is and how good Oleg is despite the fact he is a broken down old fighter.

If Haye fought Kevin Johnson, Arreola, Povetkin etc he would get his Glass Jaw shattered. So, I expect him to continue to handpick faded Heavyweights hoping he can somehow get a title fight.

 

Nobody is saying its right when it happens at lower weights either.

Fact is, some fighters are in these divisions already, trying to earn their shots. But the person that deserves their shot, doesnt always get it. The person who comes from outside a division but who can sell more tickets will it first.

Also if Haye is so dismissive of the contents of the HW division, why cant he crack out a couple of quick victories over some of the other contenders. Would he earn good money from these fights and be in a strong position when at the table with the Klits.

Nobody outside of Britain knows who David Haye is

At the EARLIEST Haye would be able to fight Wlad in Summer of 2010.

Haye is going to have to fight before then and I expect it to be another handpicked soft opponent.

Haye could not even sell out an arena in his own country fighting Barrett but you think he is some huge draw? That is laughable.

 

I always thought that the smiley you've used there referred to something being a documented fact.

It would seem more likely to me that Haye was quite rightly worried about not getting paid, due to Seatanta's money-troubles, but then I'm a Haye fan.

 

Not true, in Germany Wlad will make as much or more money fighting Povetkin and then Dimentrenko (who will beat Chambers).

Too many of you take what happens on forums to be real world truth. Real world truth is that David Haye isn't an international superstar. He's not. Nobody in Germany or the US give a **** about him, or even know him. Germans might know him from the fight he pulled out of though....

Other fights that would be bigger in Germany:

Valuev, Boystov, Solis

 

The easiest way for Haye to shut up his critics is to take on a legit heavyweight contender. But he would rather run his Glass Jaw than actually fight. He does too much talking. Shut the hell up and fight.

 

Why doesn't this loudmouth get in the ring with Arreola first? If he sucks so much, Haye should destroy him. It would build up the fight ten fold in the States. Wlad beats Povetkin and they can fight early in '10.
