It wont be the weight, it wont be the venue, it wont be the gloves, it wont be the money.....

It will be weather Cotto decides to sign an extention with Top Rank or not. Arum will not place Pacman in there and risk having Cotto win, and leave on top of the boxing world and a free agent at that... Cotto's contract is up end of the 09 year.. This is the only reason Arum is trying to put Cotto vs. Pac on!
Will Cotto sign an extention or Leave? He has a good contract now of a min of 2.5 per fight... What should he do?

so you don't think Arum will give Cotto the fight unless Cotto signs an extension? Sounds like some **** Arum might pull. idk, I think Cotto should sign the extension, Arum can get him bigger fights than GBP. Outside of Floyd and Shane, GBP doesn't have that many big fights for Cotto.

GBP is the future. Arum will soon die. If Cotto knows what's best for him, he goes with GBP.

Cotto was only planning on leaving Arum because of the Margarito situation - since then - Arum has been very quiet about that - trying not to upset Cotto even more. Regardless to whom Cotto signs with - there are a lot of good fights out there for him. Mayweather, Mosley, & PacMan being the biggest ones out there right now - but those names are good enough to get him to 2011. He has his own promotional company - so if he decides to leave Top Rank - he should sign himself to himself and pull a Mayweather/Winky Wright and Co-Promote with whom ever the other part of the promotion is with. Better business move and more money in his pockets.

As far as I know, Cotto is happy with Arum and I don't see why he wouldn't sign with them again. In case he decides to leave I see this move as a one that makes sense for Cotto. The only thing that separates a Cotto vs PBF fight down the road is Arum and his relationship with Floyd. Other than that, I don't see Miguel leaving Arum.

I am sure that Miguel wants 4 fights to happen before his retirement. The fights are:

    Cotto vs Pac
    Cotto vs Floyd
    Cotto vs Margo 2
    Cotto vs Shane 2

An interesting take on the situation, I knew Cotto's contract was almost up but the possibility that Arum may be using Pacman as bait is not unlike Arum at all to be honest. Cotto's in a no win situation really, he wants the Pac fight for the money and glory and can't really turn it down- that said if he does turn it down he gets to go with GBP. Catch 22.
