The thread title is "Cotto doesn't get enough credit" and imo his accomplishments at 47 are unquestionably credible. If one questions his accomplishments at 47 then I question their disposition. In your case I've sensed that your disposition is one of a bias Mayweather supporter who argues against Cotto accomplishments because it somehow puts Mayweather's accomplishments into question for not fighting him. And because Mayweather has been heavily scrutinized by many for "ducking" the elite level fighters at 47, threads like this one triggers a defense mechanism in your posts. Now maybe I'm being presumptive but that's what I've sensed not only from your posts in this thread, but from your general posting history.

So because you assume something doesn't mean you should just start bringing Floyd into the discussion. This had nothing to do with him no matter what you say.

I was discrediting Cotto because thats how I feel about him. Talking about how I think his resume is at 147 has nothing to do with defending Floyd and him not fighting so and so.

Only you think it has something to do with him because I have a Mayweather avatar and I am fan of his.

Clearly you are not and I could say the opposite about you, you need to bring Floyd into the discussion to help fuel you argument against him.

What I think is that you went left field with a topic that has to do with Cotto getting his due (getting credit)

So again...Why was Floyd even being brought up is beyond me...I can read and you're the first to bring him up.

There's a reason that you feel that way. It's not just there. We both have already established that Cotto is more accomplished that Floyd at 147. So what is it about Cotto that's lacking in your mind? And if your going to continue to criticize him then at least be consistent and not let Mayweather escape any criticism.

What does Mayweather have to do with anything still?

I feel Cotto is overrated on this board, this helps me with Mayweather how?

I feel Cotto lost to Mosley this helps me how?

So far 2 out of 3 big fights (I haven't seen the Clottey fight yet) I feel Cotto has lost. This helps me how, because I have an opinion? Because I feel he lost to Mosley?

One could argue that anytime Cotto has stepped up to the plate he has lost. (All the outcry for the Clottey fight).

I guess when I had Cotto winning up until he quit against Margarito helps me to with Mayweather?

I brought him up because he fights in the same weight class as Cotto and he's the man in EZE's avatar which means comparisons can be drawn between the two fighters and more importantly because he's a fan of Mayweather I was trying to establish if he's being objective when formulating his opinions.

Ehh I think cotto gets a good amount of credit. The fact that he has a large amount of haters only supports the fact that he has spoiled many anti-cotto dreams. Its why Floyd has his haters...keep picking against them and they keep winning. I admit what drives me to be his fan is the fact that he's vulnerble yet knows how to win, he's a professional he's humble and seems to leave a bit of drama in every fight. Check out who he's fought in the WW divison zab, clotty, margo, quintana, mosley...all fighters who where touted as either stronger, faster, more durable, and or more talented and check his gutsy preformances against them. Love him or hate him ur gonna watch his fights.

The answer to all of your questions is by slighting the credentials of a potential opponent/rival, it consequently minimizes that opponent appearance as a qualified threat. There's been countless posts, threads, and conversations about Mayweather "ducking" Cotto and other fighters so I sense you have and will continue to slight potential opponents who are perceived as legitament threats.

Cotto is pretty good and is a warrior. I mean he has taken on the best of 147 lbs has to offer. He has fought mosley-judah-margarito-quintana and clottey going 4-1 against them. That is pretty impressive.

But he is easy to hit and has been KD couple of times. I think that is why there's doubt about him. With that said i dont think anybody should underestimate him cuz of his past performance. I know pacquiao will train hard for his fight with miguel cotto cuz he knows cotto aint no joke.

Go ahead and watch it, it was a good fight. Actually, Cotto absorbed some mean punches from Clottey in this fight and his chin held up pretty well. Not to mention that big cut.

He's the man at 147 IMO. I know Mosley's win over Margarito muddled the picture but we all know about Margarito's antics. It is unbelievable that Cotto made it through the Clottey fight with that eye. The guy is a warrior through and through. There's a reason why Clottey threw fewer and fewer punches as the fight progressed into the championship rounds and that's because of the accumulative effect of Cotto's punches. The guy reaches in his resevoir only to find that Cotto's taken away all of his energy. Cotto gets criticism only for those who really look to criticize.

He's the Man until his *****-ass promoter makes him fight PW.

And you ****in Cotto-***s don't give a **** that his promoter is duckin someone who will stomp his ****in ass like a cucaracha. You continue to make statements like "He's the man at 147" knowing he is being protected, and that's why I say "**** Cotto"

    Same for Shane.

    Floyd can get some too.

Oh, by the way, Margarito can get it too. Down in Mexico if need be.

Oh yeah, where Pavlik at???? He gon' need more than rehab when he get that ass whipped.
