Hm, what a shame to not have Chagaev, Rahman, Ibragimov, or Gomez providing their trademark thrills in the ring anymore. :dead

That's a shame. I think Brock could have went on to be a decent fighter. Not spectacular, but solid. I think Wlad's victory over Brock was one of his best. It's too bad for Wlad too; because, had Brock remained fit and went on to win some more big fights, it would have helped put some perspective on how good of a win it was.

No, No. I am aware Maskaev has not fought either Klitschko. I just got mixed up with names and records.

I'm not in any way a Klitschko hater. I very much enjoy watching Vitali fight and admitted in my original post the TOTAL DOMINANCE of the Klischko's. It's nutthuggers such as yourselves that always twist comments and can never OBJECTIVELY analyse a fighters ability/record.

It also intrigued me that Sam Peter got all the pub about KO power based on ONE KO when Calvin Brock had an equally impressive knock out and nobody even tried to make him out to be a big hitter.

Three World Champions can be considered an elite group of fighters. It's easy to crack up sitting on the sofa.

Rahman's had his day is well past his prime and will never be a serious contender again.

SULTAN Ibragimov suprises me with his lack of tenacity. One loss and it looks like he calls it quits.

JC Gomez can outbox anyone in a phone booth right? I doubt we see him as a serious contender again.

Watching Chagaev spewing Hepatitis B "carrier" blood all over the ring was making me cringe. Glad I'm not his cutman...

Chagaev can be succesful making good money in Germany against Euro HW's, Rahman might as well try MMA, Ibragimov could still be a top contender, Gomez is in the same boat as chagaev, except he's oldr and his career seems more wasted.

Sultan looks to be hanging them up. That fight with Klitchko was terrible enough to make anyone retire. He could not beat Wlad in ten attempts. Klitchko will never try walk him down he will just stay out there and pick Sultan apart. Rahman has had it Klitchko or no Klitchko he is done. Chagaev has health problems he was lucky to get the payday. This goes to show how much more class Wlad has than Don King he gave this guy a good payday who may never fight again. Gomez has other problems. His fight against Vitalli was lack luster. Not something we would expect from a long standing cruserweight champion. But again he was too big and a easy target for the longer and more agressive Vitalli. I don't expect Gomes to get another shot anytime soon.

All of thoes guys are good fighters. Rahman most of the time gave us good fights even when he got ktfo. He was a real world champion for a brief time. Holyfeld could not knock out Lewis neither could Klitchko but Rahman did. Sultan did a number on Briggs and had good some good skill but came up short at the top of the food chain. Chagaev was a solid fighter but not good enough to be number 1.

Lets not be unfair just because we don't follow these fighters. Look at the top ten of other eras. Watch some you tube. These guys would be top ten of very close to it. No they are not going to beat Forman or Tyson but look at who Tyson fought. Spinks beat Ali. I do not believe Spinks could beat Rahman in his pirme or Gomez. You don't think Larry Holmes would not have fought any of these guys if they were around when hes was champ? I think he would have fought them all. The Rock went undefeated beat great fighters past their prime. Would he have gave Rahman a shot?

I think Ibragimov has retired. His family wanted him to do such. Rahman? He will probably crawl around for a while. Chagaev will continue to fight, his title was not on the line. Gomez is still good fighter, will continue.
