Alot of people think Wladimir K is a "great" champion who could match up to past heavyweight "great" champions.

He's into his 50's in terms of numbers of fights. More than alot of heavyweight greats have had even post retirement.

So I think it's time to ask the question. What are Wlads top five wins.

Every great heavyweight has their great wins. What are wlads?

Byrd was the only accomplished fighter out of those guys. Peter was an overrated hypejob with no skills and no notable victories. Brock? Don't make me laugh. Chagaev had not beaten anybody either. He was the WBA champ, but that organization has been a joke for years so that's not saying much.

Wlad is definitely the best technical heavyweight boxer now, but he just don't have anyone around to give him legacy fights. To his credit he dominated Byrd, who most other heavy's didn't want to fight in their first meeting. Byrd was shot in their second fight.

I don't think it's Wlad's fault that no one around has the tools to compete with him. There are no other greats around to give him a run for supremacy or test his fortitude.

Most of his opponents lack the tools needed to give him an actual fight. A prime Lewis vs Wlad would have been very interesting. And no, I'm not a Brit.

    Byrd
Byrd (shot or not, he was the Ring #1 HW in the world at the time of the rematch)
    Chagaev
    Ibragimov
McCline (was coming off a couple good wins at the time)

    In that order

Mercer was 42 and coming off a three year layoff. Brock never actually won a decent fight. Thompson won a decent fight, but was old and hasn't done anything since. Nicholson and Williamson turned out to be not much. Brewster is a gatekeeper whose only good win is upsetting Wlad. Peter arguably could be up there, but considering how little he went on to accomplish and how poorly Wlad did against him, that's not a win I'd want to hang on my mantle.

I think the way he has dominated almost every fighter is remarkable. Unlike other great champs, he doesn't have a Frazier or Bowe that really defined his career.

This post does bring up a good point though.

I also do not see Peter as a remarkable win. He dominated the fight but the knock downs are what I remember (and this is coming from a huge fan).

Too beat a great fighter like Sam Peters is impressive. The guy is a machine, so skilled, fast, and powerful. We thought for sure Peters was going to easily win.

Rather than try work out his "Top 5 wins" which is subjective, seeing as many of the guys he's beaten are young and he gave them their first loss, lets point out the Top 10 fighters he's beaten.

Fighters ranked in the Top 10 at the time Wlad beat them.

    David Bostice
    Monte Barrett
Chris Byrd - only 1 loss previous
    Derrick Jefferson
    Francois Botha
    Ray Mercer
    McCline
Sam Peter - Undefeated at time
    Chris Byrd again
    Calvin Brock - Undefeated
    Ray Austin
Lamon Brewster - avenged a defeat
    Sultan Ibragimov - undefeated
    Tony Thompson
    Hasim Rahman
    Ruslan Chagaev - undefeated

So out of 53 wins, he has 17 top 10 wins and 3 of those guys were undefeated title contenders.

Yeah - he's had a real **** career, compare him to Bernard Hopkins, Roy Jones Jr or Shane Mosley, right?

Good list. There is a good amount of variety in his opponents too.

Not everybody thought that. I picked Wlad to stop him long before that fight happened. A lot of people saw through Peter's hype. Wlad was always two classes above him.

I'd have to put Byrd and Mccline (a hot prospect at the time) as his greatest wins.

I guess from there its any of the guys who never fought anyone, but were "undefeated" on his record.

    Here's Wlad best wins
    1. Bryd- IBF champ, beat alot of the better Heavyweights at the time.
    2. Peter- Extremely feared Heavyweight at the time, and probably the most powerful guy Wlad ever fought.
    3. Chagaev- pretty good resume, decent all around fighter.
    4. Iggy- defensive wizard, underrated power as well.
    5. Mercer- he was coming off of a good win streak before fighting Wlad, he also is one of Wlad's best names on his resume.

    2. Ruslan Chagaev (solid contender and beltholder)

    3. Sultan Ibragimov (solid contender and beltholder)

    4. Sam Peter (feared at the time)

    5. Lamon Brewster (he had a great 2005 and was a good contender)

Wlad doesn't have that great win but he's got a long list of solid wins and he just keeps adding to it.
