http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oM6Ey3vb4m0 Everyone raves about Calzaghes performance vs Jeff LAcy. Hamed beat and KOD better calibre guys than Lacy...he had 6-7 Lacy's on his resume. ROFL
i would say yes, but barely....he seemed like a guy that didnt give a **** about the sport a lot of times....I think many otehr fighters from his era will get in before him.....marquez said in a recent ring mag interview he thought hamed wasnt HOF worthy because, he beat average opponents at best...
Chin up? Like Naseems? Angry? I'm angry at the ignorance of such a wee **** who argues with me, when he knows absolutely nothing. 29 is a number in boxing, if you actually fought you would know it means nothing. If you read my posts, you would know I despise McGuigan. I speak my mind, as a life-long fight fan, fighter, and student of the game. "He was young" Hopkins is old, but he was in better form at 40 than most fighters at 32. It's all relative. Boxing is a sport where fights are won and lost on subtle differences in form, talent, speed, technique, style and a boxer fighting his heart out when it matters most. Naseem was outclassed, McGuigan never was. Naseem could do the coca bonga or whatever the **** he liked when his opponents let him. How many of you have actually watched, and I mean WATCHED, studied, a fight? The subtle movements, the styles, the counters, how a fighter bobs/weaves or if he does at all? I have seen all of Naseems fights bar maybe 5 or 6, most of them multiple times. McGuigans I have seen even less of. I have seen him on the TV, his political and National alignment which I won't get into, and I loathe him. In boxing terms though, measuring all elements in the equasion? McGuigan hands down.
Yes, shame he quit when he did but at the end of the day he should be remembered for what he brought to boxing more than most of the recent world champions and will be.
I think so I just wished he rematched MAB, We missed out on a great trilogy there, I really think fully motivated Naz could have beaten MAB in a rematch
This isn't about all time greatness, it's the hall of fame. No one can deny that the man brought some serious attention/attraction to the lower weights with the way he fought. One loss to an ATG in MAB isn't something to be embarrassed of.
I know Barry had to be at his best to beat an old Pedroza then spent the rest of his reign avoiding Azumah Nelson........... :thumbsup
Its a no from me great showman flashy shots but no heart for boxing. 1 defeat and a failed comeback doesn't warrent it. He could of boxed some top fighters but he missed the chance to fight Morales and even Pacman which would of proved how good he was.
