Although I'm negative on Haye because I think he's unproven and overhyped, and although I don't believe he really injured his back, I do sympathize with him for pulling out of the Vlad fight. That's because I think Sentanta was not financially reliable, and there's no reason why Haye should have fought the biggest fight of his life without being guarranteed his paycheck.

Maybe someone like Chef could shed some light on how a fighter is guaranteed his purse but my understanding is that his purse would be put in escrow,or in other words, held by a third party and only released after completion of services and to the satisfaction of all parties involved.Sentanta would have no access to the funds even if they went bankrupt .

Haye has not given proof of his injury even though he promised to do such. Haye backed out of the fight and is so appears that he was not injured.

Maybe that's a possibility, but they would have had to anticipate Setanta's financial problems at the time of the contract signing, and what reason would they have had to do that?

It's all speculation for us fans, but, I do think if everything had been on the level, and there was not a back injury, Haye would have fought Wlad this past weekend.

Read the very last sentence of this:

Is that enough or do you want X-Rays and to interview his physician as well? Give it a break, mate.

No proof whatsoever but Haye's own words.

Of course, rationality eludes you. Why cancel the biggest fight of your life? Oh wait, of course, Haye's running scared. Silly me. That's why he's in negotiations to take on the bigger and much tougher brother.
