sorry bro but what the nutritionists say doesnt mean **** here. if were simply a weight loss contest, i think cotto could go as far down as 140 with no problems.

however, dropping down in weight and getting ready to fight 12 rounds against the best fighter in the world are entirely different things. i believe cotto can make it to 143, sure. i believe his nutritionist. however, that nutritionist isnt trained to make sure that cotto is at his best fighting condition come fight night.

    Nallege, read this.

According to an article from Primera Hora, World Boxing Organization welterweight champion Miguel Cotto (33-1, 27 KOs) is willing to go no lower than 145 pounds to fight Manny Pacquiao, who is said wants Cotto to have to move down possibly as low as 142 if he’s interested in fighting Pacquiao.

Nallege, don't be popish than than Pope. Cotto was adamant at 145 and Pac's camp accepted his proposal. Why should you be bothered when the person who will risk his life is not bothered at all?

What you can do it from eating chicken wings to lean chicken breast or soy products where it offers similiar nutrients required to build an effective body without the detrimental stuff.

As long as both fighter can go in healthy and strong that is all it should matter. Not much of a champ if you need to have all the advantage over your challenger. Make it a fair fight and see who is best within that weight class, not exactly have to be at max weight limit.

I've read everything possibility about this fight. When the fight is signed, then I will post my true thoughts. Until then, I will say it's unfair. You are right about one thing. If Cotto agrees then what can you say.

You can't change your diet at all. You can maybe eat this one day, and maybe this the next day, but as fighters, if you eat a steak, keep eating the stake. Soy products imo are just not energy/recovery foods.

NP bud, but these are boxing nutritionists who understand the game and knows what is required from fighters after making the weight. Bernard Hopkins nutritionist did him a great deal for his Tarver fight, although he isn't the only factor in the success, he plays a decent role in it. If you think pro boxers would just hire any nutritionists off the street then you are insulting their professionalism.

The argument still support that 2 years ago Pac was fighting as a featherweight. And it was insane and heresy for anyone to even think of Pac fighting Hatton, dela Hoya, Cotto, and Floyd, let alone Mosley. Now, STFU and serve us cold bottle of San Miguel beer.

The only people who make up these Superman weight jump stories about PAc are his fans. Pac is no different than any other fighter moving up in weight and fighting with the exception of asking Cotto to come in at any weight. When a man can jump from 112 to 122 without a fight, it tells me that he felt good making that jump. Nobody to this day believes Leonard was the 175 lb champ after beating Lalonde.

All I am saying it's alright for Manny to go up and down weight, but any other fighter starts crying over 2 pounds. Warriors dont make a fuss over 2 pounds which you can even lose going to the toilet.

Yeah Cotto will have to change his whole life style and diet and training over 2 pounds, get real.
