Jones would've schooled G-Man, of that much I'm confident.

Who did Jones face who was as stiff as Gman? Not that fat-ass Toney who was weight-drained and farcical...

How is being "stiff" going to help him against one of the fastest and most fluid fighters ever?

Is he going to poke him with it and send Roy running from the ring?

Monzon's ring smarts would have prevailed over the 15 round distance. The superior reflexes and "gifts" of Jones would serve him well over the first 10 rounds, but Monzon would close the gap in the final 5 and have Jones down in the 14th en route to winning a decision. Monzon was very clever and resilient..would catch Jones coming in and smother him with those long arms of his. He would wear down Jones in those championship rounds where he was a master...and Jones has never been.

Nah, Monzon would have schooled Roy Jones. I'd bet on Carlos to nullify Jones' attack by properly tying up his arms. This is a skill that Monzon was one of the best at, especially against Valdez, Brisco and Emile Griffith.

Unless they fight in a really big ring where Jones can use his speed and footwork, I'd bet on Monzon to win a close, UD. Otherwise, I wouldn't put it past Roy, having the faster hands to outland and outpoint Carlos over 12 rounds. Jones is not beating Monzon over 15 rounds.

Remember that Monzon destroyed Napoles a top 100 fighter

Remember there has never been a fighter with the speed and physical reaction time of Jones Jr.

Uh, there have been a few before Roy Jones.

I'd bet on the 1964 version of Ali to outspeed and outbox Roy Jones. Pre-exile Ali had faster reflexes than Jones. I'd say the only advantage Jones has over Ali is pure handspeed, but that's not by a whole lot. Floyd Patterson was known to have faster hands than Ali, as the greatest once himself said that Patterson put together combinations quicker than he did.

Meldrick Taylor is perhaps the fastest hand and foot, with Pernell Whitaker not that much far behind. Roy was deadly at middleweight, but I think his overall speed as the fastest fighter ever, is exaggerated.

Did you ever see Monzon fight? He was a killing machine that ducked no one quite the contrary people ducked him whereas Roy would figure out a way to kill a good fight intentional or accidental.

That certainly doesn't back your original statement about it being a schooling.

Napoles was a small Welter fighting a huge Middle in Monzon. Hardly one of Monzon's best wins at the weight, despite the fact that Napoles was a better fighter P4P than anyone else Monzon beat, barring possibly Griffith.
