Great thread. These are all excellent choices.Little Red has to be near the top of the list,as well as Harold Johnson. Also,Charlie Burley,Harry Wills and Bennie Briscoe need to be considered.

totally agree. well schooled jab, great philly left hook and would give any middle ever a hell of a fight. one of the best ever chins to made him damn hard to discourage. good enough to give the greats a war, just fell short too many times

Probablly because he chased bums in Wales for most his career, and didn't step up until the very end.

True. But it's a bull**** criteria. A fighter isn't judged on 'how many prime ATG's' they beat, they are judged on a body of work, resume and achivement.

I agree because its unfair to the sport its not often that greats exist in the same weight division.

For the most part, that cheater is rated right where he should be - at the BOTTOM of the HW all-time list.

    All time - Sammy Scaff

Now - Paul McCloskey....he;d beat 99% of the light welters out there today. He'll hold a title in a year or two.

    Id go for.....

McCallum to me is the epitome of underrated, i dont think Toney beat him in the 1st or 2nd fight.

Quartey (whom i believe beat DLH and Forrest)

I dont know if he is underrated because he is from a different era to me, but Marlon Starling is someone that does not get much play and he was a pretty good fighter imo. I think Starling might have deserved the decision against Michael Nunn personally, and he knocked Breland sparko and beat Honeyghan up. He had two hard fights with Curry to.
