Im complaining more, because their has never been an influx of retarted fanboys before like pacman has atsch maybe calzaghe fans.... But pac is p4p number 1, a division under him. So if i wanted to fight the best fighter in the world, and lets say i had 15 pounds on him..... It would be a ***** move for me to want to do that? CMON wtf 15 pounds isnt that much of a difference. And i shouldnt have to make weights below what i normally make to make that fight happen. Thats how i see it in cotto's view. I dont know why they were ok with dlh at 147, but cotto cant be their? :think
His first fight as a PRO was at 175 fool! And while I agree Nard wasn't really a 175 fighter and his best weight was at 160 he still CHOSE to campaign as a LHW and was the linear champ. Cotto USE to fight at 140 numb nuts. MOST of his fights were at 140 where he held a title if you didn't know. So its more reasonable that Cotto fight at a catch weight at 145 no less than PAC fighting at 147 where he's only ONCE faught and didn't even weigh that! You are clearly biased and concerned for the wrong reasons. Wink fighting Nard at his best would have been at MW...where Wink was not a legit MW. Still a disadvantage to Wink. And Nard was the man calling the shots b/c of his status as P4P king or damn near the top of the list at the time. They were shooting for that title and as pros and real men...agreed to the terms to make it fair.
This thread is garbage the TS is worried with Cotto losing three pounds but he forgets that even if they fight at a catchweight Cotto or Mosley will still have 10 or 12 more than Pac on fight night.
I don't blame you for being aggravated about the crazy fanatics PAC has, but that shouldn't cloud your judgement as a fan of the sport! Fair is fair. I like PAC, I like Cotto, I like Floyd and I like Shane. I don't like anyone more than the other b/c moreso I'm about boxing itself. They all bring something important to the sport. Hell....I even like Marg even with his contravesy. If you are talented, Skilled or exciting I'm a fan, even if you are an ass or boring outside the ring. It's about what you do on fight night that puts me in front of the set. With DLH they REALLY wanted to make the fight happen. He brought something NO other fighter could and that is a **** load of money! They agreed to WW b/c, even though PAC never faught at the weight and it was unclear if he could carry his speed and power up with him, they wanted to take the risk as any true champion would in order to prove they they belong in the same breath as other greats now or before him. And if you think 15 pounds isn't that much of a difference then making 145 shouldn't be that much of a differnce either, right? After all the weigh in day is more than 24 hours before the actual fight.
This thread went along without any Floyd fans trying to answer this proposition. If Manny and Floyd are very similar in size, then let them fight at 140lbs. Agree?
pac=jmm, same size. if pac and pbf were the same size, they can fight at 140. jmm-pbf is catchweight, 143-144. worse if jmm was asked to go up to 147. simple logic. but logic, a lof people don't have enough of it these days.
Here's a question. Why have them fight at 140? (Although it would help Floyd for that 4th lineal title..) When at 147 both won't need to cut weight at all.
Pac said that he is comfortable at 140lbs and his last fight was at 140lbs. If Pac and Floyd are similar in weight, then Floyd will also be comfortable at 140lbs.
Yea but that means he's fine with the weight has to cut to make 140. Im just saying, fighting Mayweather at 147 has no difference except they don't cut weight.
Without realising it you've proved yourself wrong by your statement above. The fact they were similar sizes but Mayweather was weighing in at 154 means his FRAME/SKELETON is bigger than Pacs which is the thing which actually puts people in weight classes. Anyone can bloat themselves up to the higher weight classes but it's whether their frame can withstand the extra weight without effecting performance. Tyson was short at 5ft 10 but he had HUGE bones (as well as naturally large muscles) that's why he was a heavyweight.
No it's not. Floyd at 147 weighs at max 149 on fight night. Pac weighed 149 against DLH and 148 against Hatton.
