Did Ricky Hatton deserved his 2 fights against P4P #1 boxers?

NO - Hatton is overrated, he shouldn't have been ranked in the Top 10 P4P

pac and floyd made hatton look like a bum, simple

 

If not due to his popularity and money that he can bring he wouldn't have given a chance to dance with the p4p #1. his skills & resume can't justify his worthiness.

I voted yes, clearly. Hatton was ranked top 8 p4p when he fought Mayweather and the clear #1 at 140. Whilst you could argue there were guys at 140 Mayweather should have been facing, we quite often see the champ at one division go straight up and face the champ at the next. If Hatton, at 43-0, linear champ and 147 title holder with 2 p4p fighters on his record isn't a deserving challenger then there aren't many who are. As for Pacquiao, he was the challenger for Hatton not vice-versa. Both guys have fought a hell of a lot of worse fighters than Ricky Hatton over the past few years, despite mixing in very good company generally.

PAC was the challenger to Hatton's titles but PAC is #1 P4P and installed as the 2 to 1 favorite to defeat Hatton...

Lesser boxers than Hatton fought Floyd and PAC when both occupying #1 P4P slot?? This is highly debatable... I think Ricky Hatton was the worst fighter PBF and PAC fought when they were/are already installed as the best boxer P4P #1 ...

 

If you look at the fight results (specially the one against PAC), it seems Hatton doesn't deserved to be inside the same ring with a #1 P4P guy... The beatdowns were brutal... The #1 P4P guy looked 2 levels up over Hatton...

Maybe he was, but the challenger nonetheless. IMHO you're putting way too much store in this whole P4P thing. It is not, and never has been, a title which a fighter defends, an official status or anything of the sort. It is simply a subject view where one person's opinion can differ totally from another's though most people tend to use Ring ratings. My point was that both have fought for world titles over the last few years against many worse fighters than Ricky Hatton. Just as a few Baldomir, Judah, Gatti, Diaz, Solis.

Hell, you only have to go back to Diaz for Pac fighting a worse fighter whilst ranked p4p #1. Yeah, I know Diaz fight went longer, but his overall record and achievements are not on the level of Hatton's.

Haven't voted because I don't like the options. I'l just say this, if all their opponents had to "deserve" a fight against either of them, they'd each have less than five names on their record.

I dunno if PAC was chasing those fights since as far as I can remember, PAC did walked out from the negotiations of both fights... The promoters did a good job tho and the fights were realized...

Basing from the fights results, PAC deserved the shot on Hoya and Hatton... There's no argument here...
