Fizzled out? I disagree. What's done cannot be undone. No matter what Vic has accomplished, he cannot erase the fact that Donaire gave him an embarassing loss two years ago. Btw, despite his inactivity in the last two years, Nonito TKOd his 3 opponents.

    But what has he done?

No unification, no other big names, no titles in other divisions.

Vic is his only win and Vic's profile has grown since then...whereas Donaire has barely.

The talent and ability is there...but its not happening for him.

There have been several examples throughout history where a fighter loses like that...only to come back and have a greater career then the man who beat him.

Don't get me wrong, Nonito deserves a fight with Vic because knocking him out again would surely bring him to the forefront of Boxing. He is one of the more talented young fighters out there today, he deserves the opportunities rather than a career like Hagler had.

Nonito looked tremendous in his last fight. Tremendous, against an undefeated fighter.

Obviously, you cannot blame him for the fault of his former manager Shaw. He's like a Marquez whose career was mismanaged. You can't blame him when suddenly his opponents chickened out and feigned illness. But slowly but surely he's picking up his bearing. The fact is if Vic really wants to be considered great in boxing, he has to avenge his embarassing loss to this guy. He has to assert himself and tell Shaw that he wants to fight Nonito.

If Vic beats guys like Vasquez and Marquez then that loss is almost meaningless in my eyes.

As I said before plenty of examples of guys having a bad loss and coming back to have a better career then the guy who beat him.

    Wlad is a modern example.

Donaire is 26 years old while Darchinyan is already 33 years old... Let Vic enjoy his remaining time in boxing while still competitive... Another fight with Donaire could be career ending for Vic...

Donaire is the far superior fighter and the exact same thing will happen again. Little Vic gets starched by another left-hook. Donaire has one of the best, if not the best left-hook in boxing. He impresses me every time I see him fight. He has vicious power for the lower divisions. I think he will move through quite a few divisions before he's done.
