this thread reaks of bull****. Didn't Cotto say he won't go below 144? First line you say 143 is OK.

And Cotto would be dumb as **** to turn down 35%. against Pacquiao. If Pac didn't want Cotto to take the deal, he would offer much less.

Its all negotiations, they will try to squeeze the split, money, weight, ring size...in favor of Manny as much as they can. Cotto and his team are aware of it, its win win situation for Cotto, biggest purse of his carrer and finally get inside the ring with small fighter than him. Manny did a great job with DLH, Hatton, but in this one he's going to have a nightmare like the ones he had with JMM but this time getting more punishment.

    Let's make one thinng clear:

Let it be known Pacquiao is a balsy dude to want to fight Cotto!

If he beats Cotto then he will have cemented his legacy for ever and people can shut the **** up including me.

Think about it he would have beaten both the best JWW and arguably the best WW in the world in back to back fights, period.

I just dont think he can deal with Cotto's mix of size, power, speed (very underrated), heart and boxing skill.

this will be the biggest challenge of Manny's career bar none.

It's all based on styles and this pick is extremely easy for a major fight. Cotto's ability to take a punch isn't great, think we can all agree with this one, no it's not completely horrible and it's not great either. To make things worse, Cotto's defense is poor and when your defense is poor against someone with Pacquiao's insane speed and power that spells doom right away. Cotto can't handle pressure and Manny's pressure is from round 1 to 12 nonstop with his insane stamina, to make things even WORSE Pacquiao's defense is underrated and very good making things FAR worse for Cotto.

Pacquiao will constantly jump on him with combinations and jump out over and over, Cotto just WON'T be able to handle Pacquiao's speed. As underrated as Hatton became after his recent loss he's actually a very good fighter and a very good aggressive one, the reason why he wasn't able to apply aggression is because he found out too early he can't handle Pacquiao's power and speed so he was bombed out. Cotto isn't FAR better than Hatton, he's probably a step ahead only if not in the same league and no one expected Hatton to be blown out after ONE punch only, NO ONE. Imagine Pacquiao landing on Cotto who has been hurt by MANY fighters in the past including Clottey recently who isn't even a good enough puncher.

Pacquiao is just wrong for Cotto.

I think thats right on Scar. I like Cotto, but the speed and movement of Pacquiao will be too much. In addition, Cotto has shown that he tends to gas in late rounds; Pacquiao will not

In other words, Cotto vs Pacquiao will just be like Hatton vs Pacquiao, only Cotto is going to be bigger but still the same result.
