Let's took a look back at thescrap beween the hard-as-nails, tough-talking, slick southpaw-counter-punching Irishman from Belfast, Eamonn Magee (who is also a grade A **** if you don't me saying) vs The more soft-spoken, throwback powerhouse at the time from Manchester, Ricky Hatton.

Hatton floored early for the first and only time in his career (until he met PBF and the Pac-man of course) and forced to change tactics mid-way through the fight.

Interesting fight to watch, especially now.

You should have posted this in the Brit forum, Hatton don't go down too well in the general.

So? You'll notice my location is Belfast, on the island and nation of Ireland, but let's not get political, this video highlights Hattons first signs of difficulty against slick opponents/ southpaws, you go post it in the Brit forum if you like, I'll stick to the Irish thread.

Fair enough, but there are plenty of posters from Ireland in the Brit forum.

Thanks for posting. I remember watching this fight on Showtime, I think it's the first time I saw Hatton fight if I remember correctly.

That's their choice amigo and I have no problem with it, I would like to share this fight with everyone though, I think most people in the British forum and Irish thread have seen it already.

This is a great fight, Magee was one of my favourite fighters back in the day.
Why do you say he is a grade A ****?!

He is well knows to be a major ******* as a person. Very talented fighter though ,but extremely lazy and un-healthy, you can see he's tired by the fifth. This was the only fight in his career in which Magee stopped drinking and smoking during training.

Yeah that did **** me off the way he never gave his career 100%. In that doco about Breens Gym, Breen said that Magee was drinking up to 3 weeks before the fight!

Waste of talent, he was so close to shot at Sharmba Mitchell aswell. The sky would have been the limit for Magee if he had given 100% to his fitness and career. He never fought very often either.
